GoVols247:
Heupel on Jeremiah Crawford and Gerald Mincey competing for the LT job: We will need them all (on the OL). We’ll need those two, but we’ll need them all. I’m pleased with what they’ve done in the first week or so of training camp.
Heupel: With Whitehead out for the season, thought it was important to add another body at RB. Lyn-J Dixon has been able to flash in some of the stuff we’ve done. He’s still learning what we’re doing, but he’s competed in a really good way. Looking forward to his progression
Heupel: I don’t think Jaylen Wright is falling behind. He hasn’t been able to get a ton of work early in camp. Obviously, we want to get him some physical work before Week 1. But we want to have him healthy for the long run.
Jimmy Calloway and Jalin Hyatt both did some really good things in the slot.
Heupel: Justin Williams-Thomas has come back a much different football player from the way he finished the spring. He’s done a better job with his pass protection, pad level, reading keys and making the right cuts.
Heupel: Jabari Small did a really good job today, ran extremely well. Our young RBs got a lot of work. Really pleased with how Dylan Sampson and Justin Williams-Thomas functioned and played.
Heupel: Jeremy Banks had a big pick out in the flat, made a really nice play. I think that was it for turnovers. There was some good situational work by our defense, being able to force some field goals.
“Overall, pleased with the effort, strain, competitive nature of it.”
Tyler Baron’s best football is ahead of him, and I’m really proud of the strides that he’s made.
We did some situational football today. Red-zone defense has been an emphasis for us.
Heupel: Hendon Hooker was really good today — really efficient, effective. He’s been decisive getting the ball out of his hands. In complete command of what we’re doing. Really pleased with his progress. Love where he’s at.
Kamal Hadden didn’t get any work today. But great competition at cornerback today. We’re deeper there, as you guys have seen.

**SORRY FOR THE MESS, IT'S AUDIT SEASON....TIME IS LIMITED.

There's some people really down on Calloway from some of the dropsies last year, but if he can get that under control, I love the idea of him playing more consistently in the slot. Dude is crazy athletic and fast, just an elusive runner after the catch. Just gotta learn to grab the football and not drop it.

Coach was a bit more positive than I would have thought this early into practices. Fine line though for a coach, cuz you need to motivate the players to work harder but, you gotta give them some praise. Reckon that was "some" praise.

I know pictures tell very little. Came across these from the scrimmage today. Maybe you would like to see them.
