In addition to being an aerospace engineering major, a devoted servant to the community, a key leader for his team, and playing during, perhaps, the greatest rebuild challenge ever faced at UT, Dobbs managed to garner these career stats. There's more, I'm sure.

9,298 yards of total offense - 3rd all-time behind Clausen & Manning
Note: Dobbs was only 279 yards away from tying Clausen

85 career TD's (87 including receiving TD's) - 2nd all-time behind only Manning (101)

32 career rushing TD's - 3rd all-time behind James Stewart & Gene McEver

3-0 in Bowls

23-12 (.657) record as starter
22-9 (.710) record as starter; 2014-2016 seasons

One of the great Tennessee QB's. I'll miss seeing him play on Saturdays. Hopefully he'll get drafted and have a good NFL career

I am glad we had him when we did. He was a steady factor here which was a great aspect next to all the injuries we've had in recent years.

I'm excited for what our qb position may hold in the future but I'm scared at the same time. Regardless, he was a model student athlete and a great representative of the Tennessee brand.

Go Vols!

I'd put Dobbs up there right behind Manning as one of the greatest representatives the program ever had. JMO.

I'll say this, I don't watch professional ball. I just never could get focused on it. That being said... whatever team picks up Josh Dobbs? I'll be following closely and hoping he will have a starting position somewhere. I respect this guy. He's a damn good human being and such an incredible ambassador for our program.

It'll be really weird not seeing Dobbs receiving snaps come next season. As much as Butch got roasted for saying this team were "Life Champions", you can't help but think Dobbs really is. He's a model student-athlete and will be successful wherever he ends up. Even other fan bases have to give Dobbs a ton of credit.

Gonna miss him, and excited for his future.

Great career. Probably the most important player for the Vols since Manning. Hopefully, there will be hundreds of kids wanting to emulate his academic and athletic accomplishments.

Dobbs will have at least one more highlight in Neyland, one day when he returns as the pre-game VFL walking on field to thunderous applause.

He is one to follow in the future, whether he makes it in the league or whatever, he will be a good one to watch.

Was an honor to see this young man carry the program back to respectability. Time for the next vol qb to stand on his shoulders and keep moving things forward.

We've been blessed as fans and alumni to have watched him play for UT. I was telling a family member tonight that Josh is the kind of guy there will be books written about down the road. He's a rare individual.

Definition of a scholar athlete and leader. One of the most exciting, gutty players in program history. The campus and locker room will miss him. NFL roster, Mars explorer, NASA flight director, Forbes 500 CEO. No surprise to see him achieve any or all of these.

Dobbs is going to be the toughest player to replace in 2017.

A very solid career.

I'm the biggest Dobbs fan on here but I think Guarantano is about as good a replacement as we could hope for.

I think he picks up right were Josh left off in the bowl game.

Dobbs has an unusual skill set. For an SEC qb playing most of the time with a mediocre offensive line, Dobbs proved he can physically play the game with the big boys. If you recall some running qbs of the past like Brent Schaeffer, he juked around a lot with much flair and would gain 3 - 4 yards. Dobbs glides through traffic and gains 15 yards seemingly effortlessly. Add in his high character and intelligence, NFL teams ought to give Josh Dobbs a long look. You get used to watching Josh and his truly unique skills go unnoticed. This man is a helluva ballplayer. His passing improved markedly this season. If I were an NFL scout, I would take a 4th round chance on Dobbs and see what he can do - even on the taxi squad as insurance for a year.
