Video: Joshua Dobbs helps surprise young cancer patient with new bedroom

Vols QB Joshua Dobbs is young Tennessee fan AJ Cucksey’s favorite player.

And Cucksey, who reportedly has an inoperable brain tumor, has become friends with Dobbs over the last several months.

That’s why Dobbs taking the time to be there for his big surprise was such a big deal.

On Saturday, AJ received a completely remodeled bedroom via non-profit organization Special Spaces.

Straight up Superman. And so proud to have him as a Vol.

Seems to be a recurring theme. Josh is definitely a great representative of our football program.

Some may argue over his passing game, but you can't argue that we should be proud of how he represents Tennessee.

I'll take him being a good football player and a great human being.

One will carry him through life a lot longer than the other.

Josh has had a relationship with AJ and his family for a good while now, probably a couple years now. This is not an isolated happening, Josh and/or AJ's family regularly tweets out about their visits. I mention this to let those who may not know that this was not a one-time photo op for Josh. What a blessing it is to have Dobbs as the face of our program.

Cool story. Wonder if AJ asked Dobbs to score two TDs in the VA Tech game for him??

Arrests and suspensions get all the headlines it seems, but this kind of story should be on the front pages and on the college football homepage on ESPN.com. But unfortunately, ESPN is always one of the ones decrying the sad culture of college football all the while ignoring stories like these and running thug life stories every 30 seconds. Shameful.

"Outside the lines" wouldn't give this story 30 seconds

And you can't teach character to a young man after a certain age. Obvious his parents have done a great job raising him. Hats off to them too.

We could use a few more of him in our program. Class act.

Sad thing is that most of our players are more like him than not. But, as mentioned above, the few bad acts get all of the attention. Whereas, the many good acts go ignored.

We have a really good group right now IMO.

His parents have done a great job. I think he can teach others a thing or two about character. I'm not sure what age your thinking of, but if anyone can do it, I would say JD is one of them.

Jump higher Vols.

Bet if Anita Wadhwani had to write an article on Josh Dobbs, her head would implode.

Just thank our lucky stars that we have a person like JD to represent our program. Fine young man from an obviously fine family.
