Josh Dobbs Says Goodbye

WOW!! What a great write up. You could almost feel being there as you read about GA game. I heard the story about the SC game he played so bad in, that he had pulled 2 all nighters that week to finish 2 major projects. He never made excuses, but did apologize to team and vow to never let them down again. Kid is just unbelievable with what all he handled and how he took care of business. Very glad he was a VOL!!! Best of Luck Mr. Dobbs you have earned our respect!!!! GBO

I don't have enough positive things top say about J. Dobbs. I always knew he was special and a giver, but when he took the time to visit with the people in Gatlinburg on his own, it vaulted him into my top three favorite UT players of all time (sorry Chris Lofton, you're now #4).

I think that's a given.

If they don't, it'll be a criminal act worthy of firing everyone in the AD.

No offense to you or Josh (see my remarks above), but what has he done worthy of retiring his jersey? I'm not sure his accomplishments warrant that honor. What am I missing?

In today's world he is such a throwback to a different time. When I see or hear anything about him I have to think that this is a tribute to his parents. So I give a great big shout out to the Dobbs family for their fine young son. Josh, you will be a hit no matter where life leads you. We have been honored to have you represent us is such a fine way. If there is ever a monument to Josh on campus it should say "Josh Dobbs-A Class Act".

As I've said before, just no way a better human has ever come through our program. Turns out he wound of being one of our greatest players as well. Already miss him and hope he finds all the success he wants and then some in the NFL and all future endeavors. Truly one of our most cherished VFLs ever.

If I'm an NFL GM and read this, I point to this kid and say he's what we need in the locker room. The intangibles are priceless. What would a young QB like Dobbs do if he were paired up with Mariota or Dak? Be fun to watch for sure!

God Bless young man! You symbolize what's great about being a Vol.

This is a great motivator for our 3 QBs in waiting.
Oh, to be able to write your own story like this.

All of Tennessee and VolNation loves you Josh Dobbs. How could anyone not? You make it too easy, just like you made pulling off the near-impossible look easy with that game-winning Hail Mary with no time left on the clock, and the comeback against Florida, and so many other great feats. Your public example was a ministry to me and so many others in a world and time where most find it easier to "let someone else be the role model" instead of embracing the challenge. You faced adversity head on with courage and boldness just like the bible verse you have on your twitter profile says. May heaven's wind be at your back and all its best be yours always. Thank you Josh Dobbs for showing people of all ages what a Godly man's life looks like by living it --
right on through the twists, the turns, the ups and the downs of the roller coaster and always staying on track. You're a living legend! I'll always be a fan of Josh Dobbs the player and the man. Your best days are ahead!

Absolutely great young man. Still love the story of him going to meet the kid after the orange and white game.

To Josh's mom and dad, you raised a fine young man and have every reason to be proud of your son. To you Josh Dobbs, thank you for choosing UT and sharing your life with us. I hope you make it in the NFL cause everytime we hear your name I am sure it will follow with a "from U of Tennessee" and all of us will have a proud smile on our face thinking, yea that's our QB. The best to you Josh as your life moves forward.
