Josh Dobbs - NFL Draft thread (merged)

OR... we can just be honest and objective about our criticisms.

Josh Dobbs was a very good college QB. He NEVER had the accuracy or instincts to put the ball where it needed to be on a consistent basis in games. He struggled with it his whole career. He went to camps and specialists of every sort trying to improve it.

There is a trait that some QB's have that allow them to drop a pass in to a receiver like Dormady did to Wolf the other day. It isn't a "racial" trait. It is just a trait. Some guys have it. Some can develop it. Some simply can't do it.

You were wrong about Dobbs during the before last season... he was what we told you he would be. You've been wrong consistently when comparing him to other QB's.

You claim that you "know" football. Truth is you're one of the least knowledgeable people who posts regularly on this site.

This is what I mean. How was I wrong about Dobbs?

Josh Dobbs just led Tennessee to the highest scoring season in program history. He led Tennessee to a school record for TDs scored. He led the SEC in QB Rating and Passing TDs. He is 2nd all-time in school history when it comes to total TDs and 3rd all-time in school history when it comes to total yards. The guy who is #1 on both lists is Peyton Manning. He played in 45 games in college. Dobbs only played in 37 games. On a per game basis, Dobbs averaged more yards per game and more TDs per game than Peyton Manning.

Everything I just said are FACTS. And yet you made a post talking about Josh like he was some reject and some dude who has yet to even play a snap in Dormady is somehow better. This is why I continue to be confused by the way alleged "Vols fans" treat the 2nd best QB in school history and arguably one of the 5 best players overall.

I was wrong about nothing when it comes to Josh Dobbs. He could have accomplished everything I said he would if he had a better defense last year and some better offensive line play. The fact he was able to carry that team to a school record for points and TDs last year is REMARKABLE. Peyton Manning never led an offensive to score as many points as Dobbs did last year and he had more talent around him than Josh.

Stop disrespecting the best player to come out of this university in 20 years.

Statements like this are the reason why no one takes you seriously. You make good points and predictions and then say something idiotic or far fetched.

Well there's a big no confidence vote on Bray. My kid is a huge KC fan, he's in mortal shock right now.

i'm also a bray and chiefs fan. they have 4 ut players on the roster which helps. coach reid will keep bray on the roster for sure since nick foles went back to the eagles in march. bray has overcome significant injury and and bested aaron murray to retain his roster spot. chase daniels was #2 qb and he's gone also. the way the chiefs traded up to get mahomes is very telling though and he led the FBS in passing this past year so there's no doubt he's already being billed as heir apparent to alex smith. I don't see mahomes "rising to the occasion" in the manner dak prescott did. the difference being prescott came in with little expectations vs. mahomes who will have a lot of expectations and that adds up to pressure. not that i want the guy to fail because it's smith's job and mahomes isn't expected to start anytime soon but one thing is for sure, it's possible that mahomes could light it up in KC which their offense could use a little more fire- power, imho.

read an interesting article pertaining to JD just yesterday which stated that dobbs has a more than average agenda. meaning that JD can't concentrate or wasn't able to devote all his time to playing football while a student at UT. I'll label it extra curricular activities. Now that JD is moving on, he can devote almost all or a larger pct. of his time to becoming a pro QB and that fact alone is promising to the career that JD could have. makes sense to me but i have no idea what teams may want to pursue JD and how much those teams are willing to give up. If his stock has indeed risen as most claim, i'd look for him to to be taken today by the end of the 3rd round. Personaly i think josh malone is going to make an excellent reciever in the NFL and i expect him to be taken today also along with Kamara and Sutton.

Well 0 for 2 so far, of course nobody is shocked at you once again being wrong

It isn't so much that he continues to be wrong...on everything...but that he continues to make these outlandish claims with so much conviction.

It reminds me of the old saying: "You can continue telling yourself to believe that, son, but it won't make it true."

In any event, he will eventually hit one (even a broken analog clock is right twice a day). And when he does, he will act as if he is right all the time.

He makes the occasional good point....absolutely no good predictions.

My predictions were no better than anyone else's yesterday.

That was about as unpredictable a 1st round as there has ever seen. Practically no mock draft got more than 3-4 picks right.

Other than Garrett to the Browns, Fournette to the Jags, and McCaffrey to the Panthers, almost every other pick was a surprise.

Agreed, they were bad. That's why making predictions about things no one can actually predict because there are way too many variables makes no sense.

Jamal Adams wasn't a surprise at all by the way.

That's why most prognosticators of the draft put it in a way that its the most likely scenario. Not like this kid who says something is going to happen like its already a fact......well, before he moves his prediction 100 different times to cover all his bets.

I ain't saying ish on social media today about Dobbs until he is a Brown. Wouldn't want teams to remember he is sitting there.

You think NFL GMs are following you on social media? Lol. Come on man. All teams interested in Josh know exactly where he is and have no earthly idea that you exist. Also, so much for Dobbs going first overall, eh?

Once you mention it on social media people start repeating it and next thing you know it's a butterfly wing starting a hurricane. The power of words. People are EASILY influenced. They all want to be part of the herd.

Again, no NFL GM is wondering "what in the world happened to Joshua Dobbs anyway?", only to get on social media, see one of your tweets, and then move him to top of his board because you alerted him that Dobbs is still available.

You are giving them more credit then they deserve. They all come to me for advice.
