But what if Dobbs ends up being the 5th QB off the board and goes in the early 2nd round?
Will you finally give him credit or will you continue to discount his talent?
Yeah you are right. There's about 25 QBs declaring draft. The odds are in your favor to get drafted by a team if you are a QB. I only see about 7 teams that might draft a QB for their starter or future. Every other team will draft for depth. I think there are only 3-4 teams willing to draft Dobbs. The real question is how fast the other QBs get drafted. If Dobbs gets drafted in 2nd/3rd round it's because more than 5 teams snatched a QB. It has nothing to do how good Dobbs is. It has everything to do with how many QBs go before him
i think for that to happen, a serious run on QB's would have to take place, and a team find themselves still in need of a QB, that hadn't picked up one by then.
it's not a great class, and i think minus a couple of teams, those that would like to draft a QB will definitely wait as long as they can do so. i think Dobbs benefits if some of these qb desperate teams snatch up the kizers, watsons and trubisky's of the world, and leave the Dobbs, peterman and Mahomes types to later rounds.
but, if 4 qb's get taken between round 1 and early round 2, you may see someone make the move mid/later 2nd round just to make sure they get one....
if he's taken as the 3rd or 4th qb in the draft, then you know someone really fell in love with the guy.
Am I the only one that does not see the Trubisky hype? Id take Dobbs over him any day of the week.
my only point is that i think there are teams that do value Josh Dobbs. i don't know that any of them are in dire need of a qb RIGHT NOW. i think a lot of those teams are hoping he falls to a spot they can get him. there are several teams out there this year that are looking for a guy that they can develop. they're not going to pick that kind of qb in round 2....not sure they would even if they felt the HAD to....I think he could definitely be the 4th or 5th qb taken. I have just as much faith in Dobbs as the other top qbs this year. With a better record and better game planning I think he would have been a lock for the first or second with the other qbs out there this draft.
I think Watson, Trubisky, and Mahomes will go ahead. Kizer and the others I don't know. Maybe someone falls in love with Kizer's size and arm strength.
1a. Watson
1b. Mahomes
1c. Dobbs
2a. Peterman
2b. Trubinsky
3. Kizer
Two back to back weak QB classes though. Next year will be a much better QB class.
I think Mahomes has the best arm. Forces a few though.
Dobbs the best thinker but needs time to fully dissect offensive schema.
Watson may be the best all around.
Dobbs and Watson by farthe best runners but Peterman and Mahomes aren't bad.
The director of pro personnel for an nfl team told me that many think it's possible, which means it's not laughable, which makes you incorrect. Not particularly complicated. There is a giant chasm between "laughable" and "likely", you're manipulating the argument because you know precisely two things, jack and ****.
Glad you played. Remember, when you are clueless, like bear, use your question marks.

So in other words, nobody. I'm not manipulating ****. You are trying to pretend that Dobbs is remotely considered a 2nd round draft pick this year.....he isn't and there isn't a halfway intelligent person that believes so.
Todd McShay and Mel Kiper are both saying Dobbs will be a 2nd round pick ALL OVER SPORTSCENTER today.
McShay is also taking it a step further saying he could be the gem of this year's draft class. See here: https://twitter.com/antwanstaley/status/854411328777224193

McShay and Kiper, who you claim don't know anything and just get their info from...
...league scouts and personnel guys, who you claim don't know anything and are terrible at their jobs.
But all these guys who don't know what they're doing supposedly love Josh Dobbs... so YAY!
