Josh Dobbs - NFL Draft thread (merged)

Maybe so then. Given my background, I am comfortable with it.

Backgrounds that require an interpretation of some form of data, that you can be totally wrong in, and not be accountable?

I think he forgot. Don't know how because an all time list at QB without Tony Robinson at or near the top, would be one without any real credibility

Your opinion. I agree...some don't. Speaking of opinions, what's your favorite flavor of Metamucil? :)

114's UT QB ranking ( modern day)
Manning
Robinson (1A)
Shuler
Holloway
Scott
Clausen
Cockrell
Kelley
Warren
Martin

Lol. Warren, Scott and Cockrell ahead of guys like Ainge and Dobbs? And Warren and Scott are modern era? They played in the 60s. Yeah, we greatly disagree.

I forgot TRob, so I'll give you kudos there, but if you're keeping Dobbs off a list of top 10 UT QBs you have an agenda and are damaging your credibility here.

Is Dobbs a top 10 qb all-time? Dear God no. But is he a top 10 Tennessee qb all-time? Of course he is, and he's light years better than Tee Martin.

Isn't light years a whole lot?

Dobbs 1st page, Martin page 110.

It was exaggeration. Dobbs is definitely top 10 QB though.

Also don't think Bray should be up there if only because of attitude/leadership. He's prolly top 20 though in "modern era".

Face the facts guys who thought Dobbs would never be drafted. At the very least he's going in round 6, and several like him in round 3, even the decent mock drafters. UT and Titans fans are the only ones I hear from who disagree with this.

Very rarely, if ever, did Dobbs actually go through 2-3 reads when passing the ball. And no, it's not necessarily more impressive.

Lol.... Well then what was he looking at with all those 4 receiver sets with the RB releasing as a safety valve? Were 3 of the receivers window dressing?

With the Tennessee O-Line?

He was usually running for his life...

^^^Last game @MCB...look at that PATHETIC O-Line!

the some that wouldn't agree with Tony Robinson at or near the top of the list would be some that have absolutely no clue

No agenda and Warren played late 60s and Scott played into 1970...yep that's considered modern era. Warren, Scott and Cockrell were all better than Ainge and Dobbs and it isn't even close.

No just life experience and I'm not totally wrong.

Both Martin and Dobbs did great things at UT. Both are easily top 20. Some would say they are both top 10.

Rate them or rank them, they are both solid QBs that will get a their shot at the NFL.

Don't ask me how I know but this is gonna happen.

The positive here is that Josh gets picked high in the 2nd round. Will be great for Josh and his family. And it will be great for our program to have a QB selected that high in the NFL draft. The negative is that he will probably have to sit for a year or two behind Philip Rivers. In all likelihood the most action we will see from Josh the next two years in the NFL is in the preseason. I would have preferred Josh getting drafted by the Steelers if he was gonna have to sit for a couple of years behind an aging veteran QB. But I guess the Chargers will have to do.

Time to start buying some Chargers gear.

Cockrell was a stopgap (damn good hitting coach tho)...better than Crompton, nowhere near as good as Andy Kelly. And Kelly is behind Dobbs imo. Your previously stated opinion that Schaeffer was better than Ainge disqualifies you on evaluating Erik. :stop:

Whatever, son. It's shared by all those who are informed. And it's the truth. You would have to be, far and away, the biggest idiot on this board to disagree.

Not as long as you're gracing our presence, Bunky. :)

Didn't seem to get much out of it. Maybe a career change? Walmart ain't going to greet itself.

I thought he was better as a true freshman. I stand by it. Ainge was a choke job. See, I think Kelley was much better than Dobbs. Cockrell was a gamer. I don't even consider Crompton.
