Josh Dobbs - NFL Draft thread (merged)

There are a handful who have said it, but many more who think he has a good shot to make a roster...the primary argument has been in what round he gets drafted or if he has to go the undrafted free agent route. But as GaVol said, pretty much all of us want to see him on a NFL roster and hope some team even reaches for him a bit early (middle rounds) so that he's a little more secure.

Time for the "gotcha"'s and "told you so"'s is when he's either named the starter or finishes a season as the 2nd QB. Cart...horse...thing.

I know there are ton of Dobbs haters on this site but I am not one of them. I honestly think he could play in the league if he cleaned up this throwing. He for sure is athletic enough, smart enough, and has the leadership abilities to do it.

I don't think there are any Dobbs haters. He is universally liked here. I think there are people who were critical of his throwing accuracy though and it is a fair criticism.

There were so many moments that he blew because of poor accuracy.

That being said, no reason he can't clean it up and become very successful in the NFL.

Dobbs is just a tough one to project. He might get behind a good o-line, pick up an offense and progress. He might prove to be the guy we saw at times struggle with accuracy and making simple stick throws like against SC last year.

Not really. He's actually super easy to project. He's got the size NFL teams look for, a great arm, great athleticism, incredible intelligence, strong work ethic, and a competitive drive that is unmatched. Just because Butch Jones stunted his growth doesn't mean he's tough to project. Josh Dobbs has been the easiest QB I've ever seen in terms of projecting what he will be in the league. Greatness lies ahead of this young man.

I'm personally gonna enjoy reading posts on this forum in 2-3 years when Dobbs in a star QB in the league and everyone in here will act like they saw it coming. They will act like they never doubted his ability to make it in the NFL let alone become a star. It already happened this year. I remember last off-season most people around here were acting like Dobbs passing ability was the only thing holding team 120 back from being a national champion. And then we go into the year and Dobbs passing is practically the only thing on our team that was national title caliber as he led the SEC in every passing stat.

People have already had cognitive dissonance with regard to Dobbs once. I predict they do once again when he starts to dominate in the pros.

Or maybe you just watched him throw every snap of his career and are just hyper critical. Nothing in the stats say he struggled with accuracy.

He led the SEC in almost every passing category this year. He finished his career with a 61.5% completion percentage.

Those are not the numbers of someone who "blows" when it comes to passing accuracy.

You should probably be the last to speak on cognitive dissonance lol.

I remember a former fan who abandoned Dobbs before the Florida game and damned him and everything he touched to failure. :)

His accuracy issues were inflated by some fans and I believe he can be successful in the NFL, I have remained consistant on that.

You however, threw him under the Bus last year after the first sign of adversity and now you want to claim you are a prophet who knew he was Golden all along?

Please you are as bandwagon as they come, even with your so called "boy" Josh Dobbs.

Get over yourself, if Josh is successful in the NFL(and I believe he will be), no one will look back to you as the all knowing "self proclaimed scout".

So lemme get this straight. One post where I was joking and in which I was about to post an "LOL" post in before Freak banned me for a week puts me in the same boat as some of you who have spent the better part of the last 3 years disparaging Josh and his ability to be a competent passer at QB?

Ok.

My track record regarding Josh speaks for itself. I've been his biggest defender on this site and practically the only person who has always believed he would be a SUPERSTAR at the next level.

You guys are the ones that have had no faith in his abilities.

Started a THREAD! To break that "joke"! Funny as the Unabomber Manifesto. :w00t:

You weren't joking....you can yell it and scream it as many times as you want, but nobody believes you. The owner of this site sure as hell didn't, did he?

No I didn't. I already explained this. Dobbs actually had a good game that day against Ohio. That is why if you read that thread again, most people thought I was trolling (which turned out to be true). Freak banned me for a week for that post because it was trolling.

I was simply trying to change up my routine cause the super positive route wasn't helping. If you remember I was the MOST POSITIVE person after the App State game which was much worse for Dobbs and the team than anything that happened against Ohio.

Folks here just like getting on my case about anything they can get. Even a post I was clearly trying to troll.

Ask Freak. I was banned for one week or 10 days (i forgot which) for "trolling". That's why nobody heard from me for a week.

Can't say I blame him cause that was what I did.

Plus go back and read the posts right after I made it. Some people figured it out pretty quickly and were like stop trolling.

Pretty sure Butchna didn't spend the better part of three years doing such.

But how can you be so sure anyone who criticizes Dobbs isn't just joking like you were? Since that such an easy road to take.

It's not your opinion that is the problem with most people, it is your delivery i think!

You think that your opinion is the only opinion that matters or holds weight in the forum...that just isn't true. You know the old saying a stoped clock is right 2 times a day. It's not that all your opinions turn out wrong, its that no one cares what you say because you act a baby if everyone doesn't agree with you.

This post wasn't intended to be rude toward you, it is to put in light my perception of the way people respond to your posts.

I am sure you are a great Vol fan and a VFL but you have to understand so are 99% of all the posters on here. Both Negavols and Sunshine Pumpers!!!:)

Go Vols!!!

Blah blah blah. After months of grandiose and fanciful projections, Dobbs was letting you down with his play, you were po'd and you snapped.....and we all got to read your temper tantrum in the form of that thread where you threw Dobbs under the bus, said he sucked and wished for the team to get a** raped the next week vs Florida.

So, you're spitting in the wind dude. We all know what happened and none of us believes your excuses no matter how many times you spew it.

You'd have done so much better just to admit it, own up to it and move on....but now you keep getting it (rightfully) thrown back in your face.

D4H is a self proclaimed bandwagon fan.

After that, we get on VN to find news about the Vols, sometimes while we are here we get bored and engage in discussion. Trolling or not he isn't a Loyal Vol Fan.

So they're doing a long con ehh?

Get outta here. These people have been consistently hating on Dobbs from the start.

WAIT A SECOND... BANNED FOR A WEEK??? Freak can you do that for like 104 more weeks... I figure he is pretty resilient and would come back after one but I don't think he would have the heart for two... anyone with me?

What I am saying is he definitely wouldn't be recruited to UT because that boy on has 1/2 ⭐️❤️ 🃏

Let me down?

He did exactly what I projected. Individually his numbers were almost exactly what I said he would do. You are the one who has backtracked the last 6 months cause you said he would be the same player he was in 2015 in 2016.

Now you're pretending to be this dude who believes Josh has a chance to play in the league when less than a year ago you were attacking anyone that said he even had a chance to be an NFL QB.
