Why not? As of rn hes on pace for 40 TD's, 600+ rushing yards and over 2800 passing yards in 12 games. And that's with having a slow start to the season and having a MUCH easier back end schedule.
Excessive turnovers and inconsistent play early in the year.
Also, Lamar Jackson, Jabrill Peppers, Jake Browning...JT Barret and Deshaun Watson will also have better cases, even though I don't think either will win.
If Dobbs wanted a shot he, and the rest of the team, needed to light everyone up from the beginning.
Our schedule didn't set up well for him to win the Heisman without an epic, epic season. He would need a 500+ total yards game with some heroic plays to beat Bama to get his name truly into the conversation and then post unbelievable stats against weak opposition the rest of the way to win it.
Other programs get the benefit of playing meaningful games down the stretch. Our last truly meaningful game before the voting happens is on October 15.
No Tenn player will win the Heisman trophy, Johnny Majors was second to Paul Hornung of norte dame who had a losing season while tenn had a winning season.
Peyton Manning second to a defensive player only time a defensive player has won it or since. also very few Heisman winner do good after they win it when playing tenn ask George of ohio state and the qb from Miami in 86 sugar bowl.
