What!? The football program pays for itself and more. Trust me, you are not footing the bill for Briscoe. The players are loyal to the coach who recruited them here and acted as a father figure to them. It makes a lot more sense to be loyal to Fulmer than an institution that is a business.
He said "and the fans that are paying thir way through school". You do realize it's the fans and boosters that pay the way for the athletics programs don't you?
You have to realize that in the entire time Briscoe has been at UT, he has had the "it's us against them" mentality. I'm getting the feeling that attitude did nothing but alienate the team from the University and it's fans, the media, etc... and a good escape path when sub-par play and execution on the field gets a loss. Sure, why not... blame the fans.
As painful as it would be, I fully endorse the new coach coming in and doing what Tom Crean did at IU. Show each and every miscreant, crybaby, and bitcher the door. Sometimes the best thing is to burn down the mission.the right message from Hamilton ended when he let that little party begin in the first place.
agreed. Kevin O did it to some degree with the basketball program and I loved it.As painful as it would be, I fully endorse the new coach coming in and doing what Tom Crean did at IU. Show each and every miscreant, crybaby, and bitcher the door. Sometimes the best thing is to burn down the mission.
Kevin O'Neill-Cortez, do 20 pushups.agreed. Kevin O did it to some degree with the basketball program and I loved it.
I don't know how a new guy instills the punch people in the face mentality that Saban has instilled very quickly at Alabama, but that's what it takes in football.
Kevin O'Neill-Cortez, do 20 pushups.
Cortez Barnes-I don't do pushups, Coach.
KO-That's fine. You now don't play here anymore.
Anyone who wanted to know what kind of "life lessons" Fulmer really teaches just needed to watch his players acting like 8 year olds who didn't get the Snickers bar they wanted on Halloween.
The last person the AD should have to answer to is a guy who became ineligible by failing bowling.i'm nto going to attack briscoe personally, but his actions the last few weeks have suggested that he likes attention and being in the spot light. i'm sure he's expecting an interview from someone about what's going on.
if berry was doing this, or mccoy, or ayers, or dmo. someone influential from our defense. then i would take the question and the player's feelings into account. but briscoe's attitude about all of this almost seems hollow, honestly.
Fulmer needs to sit down with these kids and let them know we are still a family at Tennessee. Whether Fulmer believes it or not, he needs to let these kids know that the future will bring hope and promise. The players should want to give there all for Tennessee regardless of if they feel betrayed.
Who cares if you are with the majority. The majority are generally ignorant in matters such as this one.
I am fairly confident you haven't competed in sports at a four year university or you wouldn't be making the comment. And trying to equate professional competition to collegiate sports competition is absurd.
You know what happens when the coach listens to the majority of the fans??? He becomes one of them mighty quickly
