"Why has it become more important to make a dollar than to keep the Tennessee family and the Tennessee tradition that we've had for years?"

Hamilton should have answered a question with a question with something along the lines of...

"Why has it become so easy to laugh on the sidelines while getting your teeth kicked in by your biggest rival?"

It's one thing to be upset and voice your opinion on the matter as a player, but do it privately. I don't mind them allowing a player to speak up and ask a question during the press conference. It's unheard of, really, and this sort of childish attitude is clearly why. Leave it Briscoe of all players to do this...imagine that. Maybe he should worry less about opening his mouth and devote that time to the fundamentals of playing wide receiver.

I don't know Josh Briscoe personally, so I don't want to be too hard on him, for all I know, he might be a really nice guy. However, I am losing more and more respect for him with each passing week.

Briscoe's current facebook status: "...he is my coach, and will always be. The Tennessee way is the Phillip Fulmer way."

obviously he's not happy about all this, but his question was highly inappropriate

According to Ramon Foster(?) during the player interviews....we will now get to see some emotion from the players at the next game and it could get intense. While it seemed unlikely to me after 9 games, there appears to be a stash of whoop-azz at UT.

Like fulmer, hamilton's job is also on line---he better make a good hire, or he can hit the road too.

I wish the players would play with that same kind of drive and determination, albiet inappropriate, that they showed the administrators at the press conference. Their effort on the field is what brought this to a head anyway and now they want to play with emotion.............priceless and childish. They can be angry and have a right to be being that it is their coach but take a lot of the blame thru poor play and pony up to it boys.

Briscoe's a player. He's there every day busting his tail and risking his body for the University of Tennessee. You guys are fans who might tune in on Saturdays and risk carpal tunnel blogging on a message board. What on God's green earth makes you think you're better able to comment than him?

Yeah, right. Some of you are as transient as tumble weeds. You're here when we're winning but nowhere to be found when we're losing.

You obviously haven't been here long. Aren't we losing now, and we are still here? :wavey:

And if players like Briscoe and Ramon Foster want to start pointing blame, they should look in the mirror first.

dimera, why don't you go back to playing your Xbox and leave the discussions to the men. You obviously are a Fulmer supporter trying to fire up some people on this forum (see your bleeding heart thread on here elsewhere) by saying it's all over for the program. Briscoe sat on the sidelines and was laughing as we were getting our butts kicked! It may have been taken out of context but regardless you do not have a good time while the coach you "adore" so much is watching his future slip away. If Briscoe cared at all he would be on the practice field with Nick trying to learn how to catch one of his passes! :)

It sucks that this is what it takes to fire up the team. Just the fact they are playing for UT in the SEC should be enough to fire them up every week.

The new coach will have to do some d-bag house cleaning, even with this guy and Foster leaving campus after this year.

Josh Briscoe doesnt even deserve to be on the field as a Volunteer and does he not realize that this is a business?

Cause we are not comments at a press conference being taped and recorded for one.

It's hard to say it's not about the money when Fulmer just signed a 7 year deal for $3M/yr with a $6M buyout. You can't have it both ways. If it's not about the money for the coach, then sign a deal for less money (i.e. Paterno making a lot less at Penn St.). It's convenient to say it shouldn't be about business when you are getting fired.

that's because the idiot doesn't realize that the program sucks due to the fact that Gen Neyland's way is no longer the Tennessee way.

Loyalty to his coach is admirable. His question in a media conference is a display of his youth. He's needs to be quiet.
