What D4H said about Baker Mayfield -
"I've seen nothing in his film that shows me NFL throws or an NFL skill set."
People wanted to make Lamar play a different position, I think it's fine to give credit where credit is due on that call (but also remember some of the others)

Didn't he make the playoffs in year 2 or 3 with Cleveland? That team rivals the Bears in all time dysfunction at the QB position.
Credit to coming out with Lamar and Allen but saying Allen’s nfl comp is Marino after seeing how Allen plays is absolutely hilarious when he plays much closer to an accurate Cam Newton

Cleveland made the playoffs last year starting 5 different QBs including Joe Flacco.
Myles Garrett's Browns aren't the Browns of old. They're an incredibly talented team that has been held back by bad QB play not the other way around. When they made the playoffs in 2020 it was because of their defense and run game. Not because of Mayfield.

Maybe you missed the part where I said "with mobility". Finding a comp for Josh Allen historically is impossible because he's one for one. We've never seen someone with his combination of size, arm talent, and mobility. Cam Newton has similar size and athleticism but he's not in the same stratosphere as Allen when it comes to passing ability. That's why I said his comp was "Marino with mobility". I was trying to find someone with Allen's size and arm talent and then add the mobility factor into the player.
Looking back now maybe I should have said Allen is a bigger version of Brett Favre with more athleticism. Brett Favre is probably better passing comp for him than Marino. But even then Allen is truly one of one cause even that comparison doesn't seem very good.

He plays nothing like Marino. He didn’t in college either. Marino was big but he had a lightning quick release that played in the pocket exclusively and relied on his supernatural ability to throw to a spot before the defender got there.
Allen plays exactly like Cam with the running but a way more natural passer. Cam used his mobility to search for big plays and take big hits. Allen though has become more efficient the last year in a half.
