This guy is 100% Hustler...and I mean that in the BEST Way! He worked his way into "Legitimacy" within the Vol Press Corp...originally getting public/verbal "sign-off" by TonyV...followed later by Heupel and eventually Danny White and the A.D. He then gets Fuad Reveiz and starts voice over/simulcasting live Vol Football games (NOT from the Press Box) but from a crafted studio somewhere with the game on the TV Feed. the other day I saw on X he was speaking at a State DECA (Distributive Education/Entrepreneurial) Conference in Nashville.

He has a young family...started with nothing but a dream of providing an outlet to Hispanic speaking folks an ability to join VolNation...and he has DONE it!

And I HOPE he is eeking out a decent living doing it...VAMOS VOLS!
That’s so awesome . I am happy for him

Carlos has, he speaks English and got his citizenship and has adapted to Tennessee culture or southern culture and working and making a living so what am I missing here?
The need for a dual language broadcast, not the person. You are missing comprehension.

F all that noise, doesn’t matter where they are from. If they are here legal they need to assimilate, if not go back home.
By assimilate I assume you mean you're okay with their tacos, tamales, etc but not with their language?

Can the Italians go back home and take their pizza with them?

The Germans need to get themselves and their bratwurst back to Germany?

Assimilate means bring your culture and make it part of the new culture and that includes not leaving your language at the door.

Did I say him? Just talking in general to using other languages in the US. Talking about the “need” for it in the first place. Do better Joe.
The thread is about him, and you generalized all Hispanics/immigrants with your statement. But yeah, I'll try to do better 😆

Dumb statement. You do realize that Hispanics is basically the largest minority group in the United States now don't you? I honestly don't see the problem with having a Spanish language broadcast. It can bring on more Vol fans especially since I believe we are the only school that is doing it and has this luxury.

Your basically saying kick Ariel Antigua and Manny Marin off the baseball team or fire Coach Gabe Lazo if they dare speak Spanish to their parents or to recruits. And while we are at it, let's kick off Burg off the basketball team if he speaks a word in Israel language and also Massamba if he speaks in French or Okpara if he speaks in his Nigerian native tongue. and let's kick off all the MLB and NBA players out of the country too and also tell Lionel Messi to sell his Miami luxury mansion in Miami and go back to Argentina immediately! smh

Every sport has broadcasting in different languages to reach out to fans around the world. Example, the World Baseball Classic is being announced on TV in both English and Spanish and Japanese and Korean. So the fans of Venezuela and Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico and Japan and Korea, etc.. watch the game in their language. Not everybody speaks English you know and English isn't the only language in the world.

Don’t forget Panama!

The cost of living alone keeps my whole family coming back, and my family’s been in Appalachia since the 18th century.

Chicanos and Tejanos have families that have been in California and Texas at least as long.

I always find it funny that some folks think speaking another language is un-American in some way.

If you got an issue with people speaking Spanish, you should take it up with the Lord.

I just can’t abide that ignorance is part of our national brand. I guess that’s a pet peeve. 😂

I swear people need to take a geography classes and learn the difference in Latin America with South America, Central America and the Caribbean. It's offensive to call a Venezuelan a Mexican or Central American and it's just like calling a Tennessean a Yankee or New Yorker. Not to put Central Americans down and no disrespect but South Americans are generally way more well off. Example, before socialism took over Venezuela with Chavez then Maduro, Venezuela was one of the richest wealthiest countries in the Western Hemisphere and was the crown jewel. Go to South Florida and see how many South Americans own 2nd or 3rd homes or condos worth between $500,000 to over $3-$4 million and most pay cash too not finance for 30 years like here.

And many would be very surprised how many Americans are now living in Dominican Republic, Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize, Panama, Colombia and a bunch of countries in the Caribbean. Lots cheaper and social security and retirement goes way more in those countries then here in the US.

The Spanish Voice of the Vols. Got quite a bit of recognition this past football season.

As an example of one of his calls/think this is the one that originally went viral on social media, at least among Vol fan groups.

Makes me wish I spoke Spanish!
