Jim Rome could be interviewing Jesus Christ himself and I wouldn't listen. That guy is the absolute worst.

I know it's an unpopular opinion, but I freaking love Jim Rome's radio show.

And that from a guy who used to hate Jim Rome.

When the Sports Animal in Knoxville picked it up for the 12-3pm time slot several years ago, I was so disappointed. Being forced to listen to it gsve an appreciation for his humor though, and I was even more disappointed when they took him off the air in favor of a local show.

He can cover a lot of ground in a little time.

This isn't about Rome (who I really do not Like), but about Vols getting the attention they deserve. GBO

So I get roasted yesterday for saying that the petition added fuel to the players and extra motivation...and Jordy Mac confirms it.

?

The word petition was never mentioned in the interview unless I missed it?

He did say however that the biggest change was after the A&M loss they had a team meeting and players and coaches got some things off their chest...that, that was why they're playing better.

Nah I missed it he said that around that time after the TAMU game the fans and media were getting impatient with Martin. McRae said when all that was going on Martin told them not let it bring them down. Then said all the heat Martin was getting brought extra motivation. My bad he didn't flat out say the petition.

People can say what they want but the petition got Martins attention. the Martin we have seen since the A&M loss isn't the same coach we have in the last 3 years. He has fire and shows emotion. If anybody says all the talk about him getting fired and the petition did not have anything to do with it is in denial.

I think he's always shown his emotion, particular after big defensive stops. I saw him on the sidelines do the same things he did at the Mercer game. I just think we notice it more now because we're looking for it.

The people in denial are those who thought the petition would ever work.

I wouldn't worry too much about somebody calling anybody an idiot. After all probably 90% of them signed the petition. The same ones calling people an idiot will be signing their 3rd petition next year if Tn goes 15-15. That's how it works in VN land.
Im still not sold on Martin but that is my opinion.

How many people that signed it really thought it would bring Pearl back?

I would guess that a bunch of folks that signed didn't think it would make any difference but just wanted to make a statement that we were underperforming. Winning cures a lot of things and it has for this season.

Here's the funny thing about those saying the petition worked...

Attention:

The Bruce Pearl Petition started on February 12, 2014, on February 22, 2014 the petition already has 20k signatures. You know what also happened that day, the Texas A&M loss.

So if this petition is what caused the turnaround, why did it magically happen AFTER the A&M loss?
