There was no mistake in what i heard. Jordan's parents were clear that CBP was "hard on the kids when they miss shots." and they said that it doesn't work for all the players especially Jordan.

Then I think Jordan's parents are misunderstanding what Jordan tells them. If Pearl were hard on kids for missing shots, you wouldn't see a lot of those Lofton fadeaway 3s and him remain on the floor. Being hard on the kids for their play includes action from the coach, ie benching or reduced minutes. Chism would have never seen the floor again after the 3rd game.

I just don't buy that Pearl beats up kids for misses. If he's beating up JH for missing FTs, that I can understand.

It seems to me that Pearl allows his team to play with a lot of freedom. Bad shots are always going to be met with ire from the head coach, but Pearl doesn't gripe about missed shots.

And, if Pearl was hard on Howell for missing shots, it was warranted...Howell's been terrible recently.

if CBP was so hard on Howell, I think he would quit shooting, especially as of late. He is just in a rut.
Hurry up and get out of this rut Jordan, we are going to need you in the dance.

I met Jordan Howell's parents at a restaurant in Gainesville last night. They are super people. They agreed that Jordan needed to quit thinking so much and just shoot the ball. They did add that CBP is very hard on the kids when they miss a shot. They said that Jordan doesn't respond well to criticism. We all know now that he had a teriffic game. Go Vols!!

During last season, my wife and I planned a motorcycle trip around Thanksgiving to include attending the UT game against LA-Lafayette. Prior to tip-off at the hotel across the road from the Cajun Dome, I had the good fortune of meeting Jordan's parents. As it turned out, we ended up sitting next to them during the game and saw them at a few other games throughout the season. I agree - without a doubt they are super people.

Howell's Parents and brother (and Juanny's mom and the Loftons) all sat behind me at the SC game. It was pretty awesome.
