Arizona is filled with much more talent than we have at UT. Not saying we can't compete with them, but Lute has got 4 years of top recruits to CBP's one year. Prince has been sick and really who know what else was wrong with him mentally, but I think he will be a major contributor to us next year from the practice reports that I'm hearing. He should fit in CBP's system very well. I'm willing to bet any amount of money that he could have made at least 1 of the 4 lay ups that Dane missed in the KY game. I'm also willing to bet that Dane wouldn't even get 6 minutes of playing time under Lute right now. The only reason he's playing here is because we have no one else. And just think ... Buzz chose Dane over Humphrey at FL. I'm sure everyone would keep Dane over Lee H. now - yeah right. I don't hate Dane. He is what he is. He's a basketball player, but not a good one. You say he's not a scorer (well you're right there), then I wish he would just quit trying to shoot all together.
If U R right and he has all that and the heart of Dane then we should be looking real good next year. However, if you really think I'm 'gunna give you a pass on "Dane sux....and Prince is God" w/o so much as a dribble yet, then you are nuts:salute:Ohh, but I guess J.P. Prince would do better. He managed 6 min a game in 3 games and shot an amazing 20% this season at Arizona before his transfer to UT. I guess Lute Olsen, who has guided the Wildcats to the most active consecutive NCAA tourney appearances, doesn't know what he is doing and just didn't like J.P. Or something. I bet at 6'6" and a huge 180 lbs. he would box out SOOOO much better than the Dane.

If UT started the lineup you have listed in (1), and played them together for appreciable minutes, they would set an NCAA record for turnovers.A couple of points:
(1) Dane would not be starting at this point in the season if Major were still on the team. Your starting 5 would be Ramar, JaJuan, Lofton, Crews/Chism (hot hand at the time), Wingate, and we would have 1 or 2 more wins. Dane would still see 15-20 minutes a game backing up the 3 and 4 spots (Chism moving to the 5 when Major sits, etc.) The odd man out in such a scenario would be Childress, not Dane.
(2) One could (and has) made the argument that Dane, physically, is not a SEC-level player, and I think there's some truth to that. He's undersized, he's slow, and he's a poor shooter. These are all significant marks against him, but you can't just blatantly ignore the stats on rebounding, assists, and steals. What I do like about Dane is his floor vision; more than any other player on the team (although Lofton is getting there), Dane can find the open man in heavy traffic and get him the ball.
(3) Dane's a senior, so he's gone next year, anyway. My suspicion is that, with Prince coming in, Passley will transfer. There's just too much baggage (the crack bust, the early-season technicals) for him to overcome to get a shot now.
(4) There is a distinct possibility that Josh Tabb will be taking over the "Dane role" for the next 3 seasons, and he may just end up being a far superior player.
(5) All that being said, I'd trade Bradshaw for Humphrey, straight up, in a heartbeat. Could you imagine the possibilities with having Lofton and Humphrey on the floor at the same time? UT would be attempting 30 3's a game. And making 15-20 of them.
