Jordan Bone praise

He’s a top 3 PG in the country this year, arguably the best PG in the SEC, 1st team all-sec worthy, and all-American worthy as well...that wasn’t the case a year ago.

If he's played 30+ minutes a year ago I think you would have seen him in the mix.
Just look at his numbers from a year ago and tell me which part would have held him back?

I'm starting to worry about the possibility of Bone skipping his senior year for a paycheck. I don't know if another year in college will make him much better than he is right now.
I think one more year and he can hone his skills to a level we rarely see from point guards. Then, the NBA will be ooohinnnnggg and ahhhhhiiingggg to get their hands on him.

IMO should have been a foul called on the one he didn't make.
fo

I looked at that several times in my lengthy review and could not for sure tell if he was tripped or if he had already fallen when the defender hit his feet... otherwise it would have been in my war and peace offering about the first half. There were two views and it was not beyond a reasonable doubt for me in either...

We stood at the tunnel and from up close (while getting hi-fives) watched the team enter the floor last night for final warmups and my young son said, "Dad, why did Bone look so disappointed?" I said, "No, that look is called 'The Eye of the Tiger'." What a 40 minute performance from Bone!

I thought in last nights game I saw a determination and confidence that is emerging in his game that I had not seen before. Its like he is coming into his own and the game in its entirety is coming to him. Seems he has grown so much and is looking to score. He puts pressure on defenses and gets them all out of position either for the score or dish off. When you start garnering praise from the opposing coaches for dismantling their team that is high praise.
He is the engine that makes this team run. His ability and savvy are really quite amazing. He can keep polishing those skills and help lead his team to greatness!

Damn good both years

That's my point

Unlike GW I disagree on Bone, if he comes back and fine tunes his shot he’s a lottery pick.
This. I've said it all season long, that shot is the only thing keeping him from leaving. And it is improving, even now. A year of putting up 500 jumpers a day in the offseason may have him in the lottery discussion this time next year.

I'm going to say it now...Jordan Bone is the best and most complete PG Tennessee has had in my conscious lifetime as a Vol fan. I'll be 40 this year.

And my point is it would be closer to the same if not the same if he played as much last year

Confidence and rhythm of playing more minutes is huge imo

You said he was the same player last year as this year, that was all I was disagreeing with and the numbers show that to be true, even the 30mpg only stats.

Yes he was good last year, he is even better this year, as Bone himself has said.

I said the truth is in the middle. I think he would have played CLOSE to this good last year with more minutes. Sure he is some better every player is with another year but I just don't think he's all of a sudden figured it out. The light hasn't just come on he was already damn good

Bone has improved mightily even from the start of this season. He only had 5 pts in 36 minutes vs Gonzaga....you'd have to think he'd triple that amount now.

Happy, happy, happy. THIS is what results from the hiring of a winning, championship caliber, and experienced coach. I’m impressed. Good hire! Bone has improved as all have under CRB mentoring. Looking for a few streets around campus for renaming if Grant and Bone come back for 2019-2020 season.

Yeah, he's been really impressing me. He's got a lot of great qualities as a floor leader. His awareness, focus, and poise are to me what really makes him who he is. He just always seems to be thinking on his feet, changing the tempo if needed and looking for opportunities. You can hear the opposing coaches mention him a lot more in their game plan. Like against SC, who thought he was a threat. And the game before when Barnes said he thought the other team was going to press him early, so he put Turner in with him to get more ball control on the floor.

That wasn’t what you originally said, you originally said he is “virtually the same player” THAT is what I disagreed with...not that the truth is in the middle, or that he wasn’t already good.

Close to the same player, virtually the same player means the same thing to me

Either way we will never know how he would have been last yea if he'd been given the keys to the car

Ditto all the Bone praise. He looked all everything last night, but how bout Tae? After an injury he has caught up quick and then some. He’s playing great on ball D, a sweet shot and power and jets to boot getting to the basket. I think our back court needs a nickname too along with PB&J
