Its been a long time since I have seen a Tennessee PG put on a show the way Bone has. Time for recognition. What an absolutely fantastic show he put on display against SC. It was a thing of beauty. The kid is so in control when he steps on the floor. His quickness and speed puts so much pressure on the opposing team. I can't remember when I have ever seen a PG for Tennessee with such quickness. The Kid can take over the game. Its like he is mastering the game and can do about anything he wants to do. Just so enjoyable to watch !!!!!!!

I'm starting to worry about the possibility of Bone skipping his senior year for a paycheck. I don't know if another year in college will make him much better than he is right now.

Don't say it. Jordan Bone made 3 TOs in the first half vs WVU. I told my son next to me that this didn't look right. It might as well have been lacrosse on the court, because it looked so strange. Bone has been machine like all season. He can damage opponents at EVERY level that a PG can.

Martin was torn up in the post game concerning Jordan's complete dismantle of them. He also said Barnes told him 2 years ago after the game that he needed "new guards" when USC abused Turner and Bone in the game. Boy, have those 2 grown up!

He's also distributing the ball like he's Peyton. Frankly he's doing everything you want a pt G to do and that's huge for the Vols. College basketball games are generally won by the guards

I thought in last nights game I saw a determination and confidence that is emerging in his game that I had not seen before. Its like he is coming into his own and the game in its entirety is coming to him. Seems he has grown so much and is looking to score. He puts pressure on defenses and gets them all out of position either for the score or dish off. When you start garnering praise from the opposing coaches for dismantling their team that is high praise.

Will be taken as a Hot take but I believe it

Jordan Bone is virtually the same the player as he was a year ago. The only significant difference is Barnes is giving him the minutes he neeed all along. Barnes just didn't trust him to leave him alone long enough to play without looking over his shoulder

Bone has happy feet.

Hard for teams to handle quick PG's because they can beat you in so many ways. Last night was just a show. I mean the kid put on a show. You see a lot of kids with quick turns with the ball ect but Bone doesn't even do those moves he just quicks straight to the basket. Its just fun to watch the kid blow by defenders like they were sitting still. Oh yeah and the passes last night. The full court heads up passes. Amazing. Strikes to the heart of the defense

Fg% is up, 2pt% is up, ft% is up, a:to is up...and obviously all his per game stats (points, assists, rebounds etc.) are all up.

Barnes gave him chances many times to play big minutes, he didn’t play at near the level he is this year.

Think you are missing my point. My point is not having to look over his shoulder thinking he's being pulled at every mistake has allowed him to play with more confidence thus those numbers have improved.

Facts are his assist/TO ratio were plenty good enough a year ago to earn more trust from Barnes imo. Others stats were good as well and 3pt stat was a lot better last year

Part of that was Lamonte being hurt and Bone knowing he had to play 30+ minutes every night. I think that’s a valid point.

But he has clearly improved from last year. He’s not the same player. It’s not just a confidence thing, it’s clear he worked on his game.

Has his play declined with Turner’s return? I can already tell you we aren’t going to agree, fact is Bone himself has said he is improved and that he spent a ton of time working on his game and studying other PG’s, and that is what he attributed his success to...NOT Barnes all of a sudden giving him 30+mpg.

I believe it was the WVU game Bone made a dumb pass, Barnes pulled him immediately, that hasn’t changed.

I think he's improved but it's a what came first the chicken( confidence) or the egg(real Improvement).

Imo he's was an elite PG a year ago. The numbers proved he was elite but the minutes per game didn't.

We will never know but I think the truth is somewhere in the middle.

He’s a top 3 PG in the country this year, arguably the best PG in the SEC, 1st team all-sec worthy, and all-American worthy as well...that wasn’t the case a year ago.

That’s my point. Even with Turner there over his shoulder his play hasn’t fallen to the level it WAS at, it has stayed at the elite level it’s been all season.

I don't follow

Turner didn't cause him to look over his shoulder the threat of the bench did.
