Jones: Tennessee IS Back-"on CBS 4 str weeks"

No he hasn't. He has proven he is better than the Dooley that some swear is not the bar, even if they use him as such.

He has yet to hit the low bar of Fulmer's success at the easiest stage in its history. Which would be kind if it was considered "the Hump."

People from both sides of the debate bring up Dooley. He isn't the bar. He's a reference to the starting point, not the end game.

The last 48 hours on here is basically the equivalent of the Women's March (anti-Trump march) where a bunch of people are on here *****ing and moaning and basically accomplishing absolutely nothing.

What do you consider to be "back"?

Winning the East, and/or going to the Sugar Bowl and not blowing both to inferior teams.

All being on CBS proves is that's the game CBS chose to show that week and CBS didn't get the top choice every week.

It depends on how you define "back." Tennessee was "back" in the national spotlight last season, hence the reason we were chosen by CBS four straight weeks. Folks had confidence in our staff and our roster to compete for a championship.

But 9-4 isn't back to the level of national prominence where we'd all like to be.

A lot of factors go into what game CBS chooses. They don't get top pick every week, some weeks ESPN gets it.

Sunshine pumping doesn't accomplish anything either; in fact nothing we do on here means jack sh** so by your logic, we're all wasting our time.

You sure? I thought when the SEC was involved CBS had first pick, except for the first two weeks of the season which ESPN picks first. Maybe I'm wrong.

ESPN gets to pick maybe once or twice a year. Not sure when or where they fall.

If I am wasting time, I'm going to daydream of gridiron glory. Y'all can tar 'n' feather Butch, if that strikes your fancy, but pleasant dreams make for pleasant mornings, whereas nightmares make for sweat-soaked sheets. :hi:

Sounds right. That used to be the first two weeks I believe, but it could have changed.

CBS's contract literally guarantees them the first pick of the SEC vs SEC games.

Fulmer was here for 16 years, he won the East 4 times. He first won it in year 5. Fulmer never went to the Sugar Bowl. He made it to 3 "BCS" bowls 97-99, going 1-2. The 99 team lost to an unranked Arkansas team, his 96 team lost to Memphis, the 2001 team aka the most talented team in UT history lost to an unranked UGA. The 99 team was ranked #3 and would have played for another championship if they beat Arkansas. The 2001 team was ranked #2 would have easily played for another championship with a win over LSU.

So being "back" means returning to a 3 year period almost 20 years ago. Got it

CBS covers the US Open the first 2 weeekends of CFB so they don't show any games

A LOT of the whiners are calling for Butch's head and speculating about how much longer the poor dears will have to suffer before it finally happens. They're all so anxious to get started second-guessing and criticizing the next head coach.

The histrionics on display in your post would be amusing if so many others hadn't played out the message.

We get it, you and a lot of others on here equate ANY criticism of Jones to automatically meaning "fahr Butch".

You guys are as thin-skinned as your Buzzcut Leader.

So now even bowl wins are Championships to him. Good lord he has more meaningless championships than all the FBS championships ever won by every school ever. I'm sure we will be the best team in the country with a losing schedule and we will have won the championship of the 3rd or 4th best team in the state.

Someone needs to tell him to shut up and go into a personal media blackout until he can win the East and make it to a bowl game that all the fans will be proud to be in.
Yea that way everyone can b...h about him not making any statements about the program. It's like a circle (someone find the gif for that)

Butch is not lying about these championships, it's just alternate facts😳

Are they not better than they have been?

Its a joke there jarhead, calm down. CBJ cant produce wins to what the talent level suggest he should, throught four years and he appears to me to overcompensate for it by saying dumb stuff.

Would you have rather Tennessee have had a losing another season so Butch would be gone? Misery loves some company!!!!

Please show me one single post ive ever made suggestig CBJ should be gone?

And if you dont mind could you explain how having CBJ or having a losing season are the only two options?
