Jones Pressor at 11:00!

You guys are working way too hard at putting a negative slant on an entire press conf. Relax a little bit

If he would take ownership to some of the downfalls this season instead of ducking questions or butch jonesing the question it wouldn't be so bad

You had better rethink your statement and look at the roster once again, team 121 will be lucky to win 5 games and Kelly is nowhere near Kamara, not even close....2017 will be a very tough year on Vol fans and Butch Jones

2017 Starters

QB - Jarrett Guarantano
RB - John Kelly (Alvin Kamara if no draft)
WR - Josh Malone
WR - Marquez Callaway
WR - Josh Smith
TE - Ethan Wolf
LT - Brett Kendrick*
LG - Venzell Boulware* or Jashon Robertson*
C - Coleman Thomas
RG - Jack Jones*
RT - Chance Hall*
* Hard to tell who will start where because they have all been moved around and have tons of experience at multiple positions (group played well considering)

DE - Kyle Phillips moves back outside
DT - Shy Tuttle
DT - Kahlil McKenzie
DE - Alexis Johnson or Darrell Taylor
** There will be great depth along the DL provided no injuries
OLB - Todd Kelly Jr (Weak Side)
MLB - Darrin Kirkland Jr
OLB - Quart'e Sapp or Ja'Quain Blakely (Strong Side)
LCB - Baylen Buchanan
SS - Nigel Warrior
FS - Jauan Jennings
RCB - Tyler Byrd

N-B - Rashaan Gaulden (2 LB sets)

P - Trevor Daniel
PK - Aaron Medley

Really photo? All I see that might be hard to replace would be Kamara and Dobbs. Kelly will do fine and hopefully JG or QD will do fine at QB.

But to say we will be depleted just isn't true.

Props to madbamahater for the original writeup by position.

If you lasted the whole way through that awful presser, you should be rewarded...

Jennings and Byrd aren't moving to Defense.
Johnson won't start.

Jones won't put his fate in the hands of JG whose never played a down. QD will start.

A couple of quick points.

1. Last year the Penn State board was overflowing with fans saying Franklin was no good and needed to go. These fans loved Penn State and knew they would never be relevant under Franklin. I'm certain that they all felt they were 100% accurate in their evaluation.

2. After the Falcons game yesterday, I heard interviews with the coach and Matt Ryan. What I noticed was that they both used all the same cliches we blast CBJ for using. I then thought about the cliches being used and realized they were actually pretty good answers. Cliches may have developed for a reason...(good simple answers to questions that can't really be answered in a few words.)

What are all of you guys who are constantly crying about Butch going to do if the team finishes 10-2/11-1 or better next year?

There is no way a simple plate of crow will cover all the disgust you're causing the fans who aren't completely miserable with a constant doom & gloom outlook.

I love the clichés.

You know this is not press conference related per say but I just saw where Trey Smith the 5star recruit from Jackson is announcing Tuesday.. Also saw where his sister, Ashley Smith is lyles executive assistant. I may have missed that during the recruiting process but may be a good sign.

He actually seemed a little more candid in this presser. Yeah, he still rattled off his Butchisms. But he said a lot of things people have been wondering about:

-Evaluation starts with being critical of himself.
-Too soon to discuss coaching changes, which it is.
-Lacked physicality at times throughout the season.
-Lacked depth.
-S&C being looked at, at least an additional hire.
-Reviewing practices, games, meetings, etc. Even said it was tedious and tiresome, but that that was his job.
-You can tell he really enjoys recruiting. Even called it therapeutic. Not normal Butch speak.

I'm not happy with the season and I'm not sold on Butch long term at all. But there is a lot of reaching going on in this thread mates..

Best quote of the presser.

Tennessee and Nebraska are two historical problems, Err I mean historical programs.

I about fell out of my chair. :)

That's not my list just grabbed it to show what is coming back. If we pick up some Juco DBs I definitely would not move Jennings or Byrd to defense.
