or humbled as in "I've spoken in nothing but cliches so long I sound like a shady church deacon and can't turn it off".

Debord would mean no one wanted to come here in Butch's "humbled" comment...

DeBord is such a good OC that he hasn't been one since 2007... and not in a good way.

Some of you people are actually saying you want a guy who is currently the Olympic Sport Administrator at UM.

Every coaching stop this guy has had since 2000 has ended up with abject failure.

2000-2003 HFC at CMU. Resigned.

2004-2007 Michigan (ST/TE/OC for last 2 years). Ended up with entire staff fired.

2008-2009 Seahawks (Asst OL/TE). Ended up with entire staff fired.

2010-2012 Bears (TE). Ended up with entire staff fired.

2012-current not a coach of any kind.

Who in the world wants that over a sea of better names we should be able to attract over here with our current and incoming talent?

If Butch wants to build up brick by brick this is the guy that will deboard by board.

DeBord fits Hart's style. A cheap, unknown coach who hopes turns out to be a diamond in the rough.

Per the experience requirements from the interview, I don't think CZA has enough.

lol, but debord does?

Give me a guy that was a successful OC in 2011 than a failed OC in 2007.

But, given our talent, we shouldn't have to choose between Azzanni and Debord. We should be able to easily get a Co-OC from TCU without having to break a sweat.

No doubt. If it's DeBord, I'll be seriously concerned. Supposedly we have candidates reaching out to CBJ. Hiring DeBord would be ludicrous

humbled as in "nobody wants to come here"

or humbled as in "the ghost of the general asked where to sign?"

Humbled as in how much interest he is getting and for good reason. With all these skilled players and one of the few returning QB's in the SEC a OC could look very good with the group he would be coaching. No reason Butch can't get a high quality OC. And I would think if it was Z A he would have been named already.

I didn't see it posted anywhere, but John Brice had a Q&A with CBJ on the OC search. Good read - particularly when Butch admitted he's been 'humbled" about the coaches across the nation expressing interest in the Job. I know a lot of what he says is coach speak, but that part seemed genuine to me.

Coach speak or not, the man has delivered on everything he said. I tend to believe him until proven otherwise.

He also talked about the importance of familiarity with the current staff.

Azzani imo.

Don't see any chance its Azzani. He has only been an OC for one yr and that was in 2011 at WK. Don't see any chance Butch promotes him with a very big yr in our teams development coming up. Gonna hire someone with experience in this offense as he said in this article and Zach doesn't fit that mold.

What many do not realize is that coach speak can be powerful. If it's the right message, it can provide or mantain direction.

Have you ever been on a conference call with or watched a video of an executive of a large company? They speak in overall direction and focus on a vision.

3 pages into this thread and not a mention of Manning. Absolutely shocking from VolNation!

This thread is about Butch's comments on the search. He didn't mention Manning, therefore there are no posts about him until yours.
