I feel like he does get some respect. I hope he gets things turned around. But he has mountain to climb.

Now is not the time to let current administration to make a lame duck long term decision. It's not about the $, even worse it not about a bad 8-4. It's about having 5 coaches in 10 years and hitting the reset button on improvement.

It's time to eat our vegetables, and take one more round with Butch, or roll the dice. Losing to Vandy may not be the final straw but it does make it enough straws.

The guy who left his players to answer questions from the press while he hid and pouted after a 3 minute hit and run?

Go earn that grace back, Butch.

Good post and level headed, a true fan hopes he gets it done...why would we want to suffer through a year just to have the opportunity to hire a coach who may or may not be an improvement...go vols!

Cannot like this enough. He is paid more in a year than most of the fan base will make in their life. I know a lot of people who are lucky to go to a game every few years and for them to spend $150 for two tickets so they can take their son or daughter is huge for them. For them to see the band, the power T, hear the roars and feel the crowd is amazing for them.

And then to hear this guy making $4M a year making excuses, side stepping questions and talking snake oil when someone like Barnett will call like he sees it...it leaves a bad taste in their mouths.

People need to think this through. Hey I want to win but hiring other coach not wise now. You have to see the bigger picture. That being said Butch has some work to do.

Yea...after bama crushed Florida, we'll be tied with 4 other teams for the second best record in the SEC...I wonder if any sane person, seeing the irrational hatred from the fan base, would ever considered coaching here...

People need to understand WE ARE NOT HIRING A NEW COACH this year...maybe they are just sure he will never win a championship so they want throw fire on the "Fire Butch" campaign...and they don't seem to care if it hurts our recruiting - not just with players but with future coaches...

What makes you think #5 will work out? We'll run him off in 3 or 4 years...then #6...then #7...eventually we will stumble into a great coach or will get a decent coach who stumbles into a great situation (Fulmer)...

My point nail it! The fanbase is DE-valuing our program. Charley Strong made a point to say that his players read the negativity that was wrote by the fans. It does have effect on a program. And it does have an effect with those considering coming.

99% of Vol fans have absolutely nothing to do with decision making. That # may be way too low but that not a bad thing.

Just looking at screen names on a Vol message board, good decisions is not part of Volnation DNA.

It has become obvious over the last two years that Butch is not the guy to get us to the promised land. We could give him another 8 years and we would not win the SEC. We can bask in all the mediocrity we want, or we can cut bait and begin to really build this program back into a national contender.
