this hire will make or break him and i am beginning to doubt this coaching staff at least on the offensive side of the ball can get us to a championship that matters much less win it. i believe the players want to win championships but coaches leaving may prevent that from ever occurring again at Tennessee. Folks might ought to go ahead and understand that now. i have tempered my 2015 expections from 9 wins with a sec title to 6-7 wins and it hurts to do so. Just sayin'.

If you think Bajakian has a WAR of 3 games,

Nothing against Jake. I met the guy, and had a lengthy convro with him back when he was hired, but I think Butch can hire a much better OC. Bajakian is about as mousy a guy as I have seen in SEC football. I don't mean that offensively, he just doesn't seem like a college football coach.

Well somebody was cussing at the TE that left and was too hard on him.

I hope you are trying to troll. Even so it makes no sense. You don't think the offensive coaches can get it done, but losing the OC send you over the edge?

I'm waiting hear why he left and why he left when he left...

But this is Jones' O. It wasn't Bajakians and it likely won't be the next OC's. IIRC, it is the system Jones ran as an OC. He's a disciple of RichRod with some tweaks.

I have long believed that the HC is the big coaching factor to a recruit. We'll see if it hurts but that's the big potential downer... and that will have little to no effect on this fall.

It will be interesting to see how far outside the "family" he goes for the replacement. But this is unlikely to be as big as many of you think right now.

Oh my god. People have been complaining that Offensive sucks, is predictable, the OC is the worst guy on the staff, he leaves and now the sky is falling? Damn let Butch hire someone before the doom and gloom sets in. People will find anything to complain about.

Bajakian was the weak link in the chain

I honestly liked him. But he can be replaced and can be replaced with a bigger "name".

I would be OK if Jones wanted to promote Azzani. There are some good names out there too. The only questionable and critical factor is having a coach that works well with Jones and the rest of the staff... the talent is out there to be hired.

whoever it is better be very innovative. Offenses are about tricking the defense with formations, etc as much as they are about anything. Seems everyone is going to a lot of gimmicks and going on quick snaps before the defense can react to the formation. Chicken**** football is what I call it but its the way of the day so you better adjust.

My lord, I truly wonder if some of these people on here just urinate on themselves when faced with the daily stresses of life. This board can take panic and stupidity to whole other levels.

Really - who "seemed like a football coach" to you? Probably Kiffen.

Have you seen our basketball coach - he don't "seem like" a basketball coach----but danged, HE IS!!

If we go 8-4, I really doubt we'll win the East, and if we do, I won't expect to then win in Atlanta to get to 9-4.

Fulmers undoing was his hiring of Dave Clawson. Dooley's undoing was his hiring of Sunseri.
See a pattern??

1) Fulmer hired Clawson, but tried to make him run UT's playbook. He tried calling the plays, even when he had no idea how the scheme actually worked.

2) One clueless coach hiring someone even more clueless to "run" his defense. At no point during the season did the players ever understand the defensive scheme.

No offense , but I don't agree with even a single thing you wrote here. Kinda thinking you're overreacting just a tad, especially given that Coach Jake arguably caught more criticism than any other member of the staff last season.

i am talking consistency here. that is what is going to inevitably hurt us more than anything. if we can't keep it we won't win championships. though i hope i wrong. my problem is i care wwwaaaaaaayyyy to much about tn football.

Yeah you do.
