CBJ was asked by the sideline reporter about a discussion with the refs. He stated something like "I was just encouraging them that they were representing their conference well". I'm pretty sure these were PAC 12 crew. Anyone else catch this? Have any thoughts on CBJ's slant? It came across as a dig on the refs and the PAC 12

Outland trophy winner held Barnett all night. Will be bust in NFL. Flagged on every play with real Refs

There was a lot of holding overlooked, but calling Scherff a bust might be a stretch. Most dominant O-line play I have seen in a while.

They just ignored holding, seems like they turn their eye to O-Line holding and look for hands to the face more. Barnett was held all day long and never got a call. If I'm the staff I am in heir ear about that kinda crap. No way Iowa should have gone the entire game without a hold. What a joke! GO VOLS!!!!

I guess the DL never told him about all the holding going on, especially Barnett being held. I saw a few that were really blatant and never called.

There were at least four times QB broke out and our DLine were chasing and Oline was begind them with still a hook wrapped around the shoulder pads from behind!
Not once was it called!
Say what you will I think there is still some SEC bias there. Even if unintentional!

Yeah the sideline reporter said "well there you have it" and booth reporters started laughing!

Yes! We saw it and the whole room cracked up. I think he said: "We were just thanking them for representing our conference so well." It was hilarious.

Yeah, he's a monster.

Hopefully he doesn't turn out like Robert Gallery...

He said "I told them they are representing their conference very well" sarcastically. Apparently it was after he had some choice words for them, that's why he was being asked about his interaction with them before halftime.

I wonder if he used blue fonts.

It was a dig at them and the calls that were missed. Still not sure about the play on the kickoff. It was about as wierd a play as you will see. Not sure the refs even knew what to call!!

Yes I agree the officials sucked but was curious about was he getting a shot in on the PAC 12?

No he wasn't taking a shot at the conf. Kinda like if a kid does something bad or stupid, if you said he was representing him family well you arent taking a shot at the family but saying that kid is embarrassing them.
Plus wasn't he asked earlier in the year what the discussion was between him and the ref at halftine once before?

CBJ doesn't miss a thing and I think he doesn't have quite the thick skin as others and he can come up with a sarcastic comment to match what he sees going on outside his assessment of the way it should be. Making his observation had no impact on what was happening on the field in terms of improvement for rest of game. He needed people to know that he knows what he saw.

Like the comment post game, when interviewer commented on Dobbs great play, yeah, CBJ nodded but "he has a lot of room for improvement".

When you're at the helm, your opinion is the one that matters.

It was an epic answer for TV after dressing down the refs. I hope they found it funny too. Best part was Butch playing it straight up, dead pan and didn't miss a beat.

Was hoping someone would begin a thread on CBJ's halftime comments. Spot-on & reeking with sarcasm! Zebras seemed dazed & confused at best. :hi:

I heard it and I had a good laugh. I didn't take it as a dig on the conference, more like a shame on you refs.

When Ruddock ran TD #79 had a handful of J Williams shirt as he pursued the QB never let go as Williams pulled him 7 yards no call TD....unbelievable I just felt like the refs felt sorry for Iowa at this point.

My take was instead of saying "no you stupid ***** I'm not going to tell you what I said to the refs" came out as "I told them they were doing a great job and were representing their conference well"
