I agree. I think that rap gets a bad name from mainstream America because of some of the language that is used is not what you would like represented. But, all in all, the truly great story tellers like Tupac touched on social issues that have largely been neglected in our society. "Brenda Got A Baby" and "Dear Mama" are just two examples of Tupac's genius of blending neighborhood issues into hits that all can understand. Ludacris' "Runaway Love" is another chart topper that currently fits the bill. I think people that blindly hate rap are listening to Bill O'Reilly and those hacks too much.

I used to listen to a lot of rap but not so much anymore. Rap totally sucks these days with a few exceptions. It's not just about the language but what they are talking about. I've heard enough about girls shaking their butts in the club to last a lifetime. It is so watered down and almost everyoe uses the same formula/producers to make songs. Plus it annoys me that you are considered a punk or whatever if you don't have an explicit content sticker.

How (or why) would T.I. give Wade a cameo in the video? Wade is from Louisiana, isn't he? T.I. is from ATL?

Big Tymers?:eek:hmy:

TI keeps a few former (and current) SEC football players in his entourage, from what I understand. Other than Wade, I know that former Alabama DB Ramzee Robinson was a member of TI's Pimp Squad Clique.

I don't know how exactly Wade made it into this video...but, Manny Fresh is in the video and produced the song, and he's a New Orleans product..perhaps he and Wade are friends?

Yea most of those rap/hip-hop songs are only good if your in a club, and most of the watered down same tune songs are the ones just made for radio play like "this is why im hot" by MIMS (i hate that song). I miss the days of Tupac and Dr. Dre where they use to actually rap about meaningful things like racism, poverty, the struggle, etc, instead of hoes, cars, money, pimpin, drugs and alcohol. T.I. is one the few rappers today that still can create unique music that actually sells.

ha you see very catchy, but if you actually listen the lyrics are stupid.

As for the T.I. song, I can see why Wade is in it because listening to it makes me get pumped up like before a football game.

Yeah, that was the only thing I could think of... a connection with Big Tymers.
