Jonathan Crompton blew off Peyton? (because a BLOG says so)

This explains a lot about Crompton as far as I am concerned. He has always reminded me of a child suffering from ADHD with a 10 second attention span and I would have thought someone would have recommended some medications for his condition by now. Failing that maybe a vision test would be in order because it is obvious that he cannot see open recievers but he can see triple coverage which is where he throws most of the time. If I were CLK I would be careful as he has already cost one coach his job we don't want to make it two.

Its ok Jon, I completely understand why you did this. You have 8 more months to roam the UT campus and then its bye bye forever. Remember Jon folks don't hire crappy former QB's to big time jobs in the outside world. So head back to the hills of North Carolina, call Ashlon Jeffries in 3 years and you guys open up a gas station. They'll be no ESPN jobs, they have enough dumb looking guys. No CBS college football jobs....No Jon, you will always go down as the worst QB ever to lace em up for the Big Orange. Everynight before you go to bed you should be thankful that Tennessee wasted a scholarship on you and you never earned a penny of that full ride. Thanks Jon, because of you and Phil Fulmer this program hit rock botton.

Please.... please people.. give it a rest. We get it that there are sooo many of you that are unhappy with JC... you hate him.. we get it. Do we really have to read it on EVERY single thread on this forum? Grow up.

amazing that this comes from some unknown blog with "sources" that can't even spell Peyton right in the first sentence.

strong thread

I agree 100%. What that tells me is VolNation could start any kind of rumor with unknown sources. Kind of silly.

I have a hard time believing that every kid wants to make it to the NFL and regardless of how Bad crompton is, I bet you he would still do anything to make it there. just don't see him blowing off Manning, sorry. to all of you people who want to crucify the kid. you are just latching on to anything you can get to dislike the kid even more, no matter how ridiculous the story seems.

There is no way I'm believing this, but not because of Crompton... but Manning. Peyton is too classy and too smart of a guy to start up a conversation with Crompton "in the training room with others gathering around" and start giving out advice. It doesn't add up. If Peyton really were to give JC advice, he would do so in private where he and JC could actually have free discussion without others listening in.

Good point he usually calls the QB's especially since he is busy with his NFL schedule.

I find this very, very hard to believe.

I don't know about the details, but I know first-hand from another Vol ex-great QB that he, Peyton, and others have offered advice to Crompton, and he has been less than willing to take it.

that part I believe and have heard too, but I don't believe that he blatantly walked out on the guy.

I would hire Crompton and this personal bashing is pathetic.

Peyton, I'm really happy for you. I'll let you finish. But Tee Martin had one of the best seasons of all time ... one of the best seasons of all time! I gotta go piss.

"Hey Manning, I don't care if we both get $100, I am not switching to DirectTV! Now if you don't mind, I've got to go take a Clawson"

I don't think it's that hard to believe really. I mean, Lane has worked with him for almost 9 months and Crompton looks like the same old QB. So, if he's not going to listen to Lane, why should he listen to Peyton. Crompton's own worst enemy is himself. If he would get it out of his head that somehow he still a great HS QB, he might have a chance. It's too late for that honestly.

Just out of some morbid curiosity, why would you hire him? Does your profession include a lot of practice days and failure on the big day?
