I searched, but I didn't see this anywhere.

Anyway, according to one source, the Tennessee great sat down in the training room with the Vols’ current signal caller and Manning began talk to him. As Manning and Crompton talked, members of the team in the training room began to gather around to listen to what Manning had to say to Crompton.

It appears the only person in the room that wasn’t paying attention to Manning was the very person who could use his advice the most- Crompton. Sources say Crompton was looking around the room as if to appear disinterested in what Manning had to say.

It gets better… errr… or worse, depending on whether you view this story as a tragic inside look at the Vols’ offensive leader or a humorous story to illustrate why the Vols can’t seem to get it together. I view it as both.

Crompton’s next move, according to a source, was to excuse himself to the restroom. He never returned. Needless to say, Manning wasn’t happy about Crompton’s insulting behavior. The term “pissed off” was used to deócribe Manning’s feelings regarding the situation.
If true, WOW.

Wow, indeed. Even I would listen to what PM had to say in regards to anything football.

"if he refuses to show interest in what Manning, an NFL great, has to say, is he really capable of learning from Lane? Is he smart enough to realize who he needs to be listening to?" this was in the article

Try this ad on a Knoxville Craigslist site:
I have a quarter back to give away for free. His name is Jonathan Crompton and you can have him. Feel free to take him before we have another losing season. I am asking a dollar for him , just because craigslist won’t accept 0

Well, this puts Crompton a notch below feces on my personal preference list. I'm not the biggest Peyton fan, but if he's got something to tell me, I'm going to listen.

Not saying it matters in the slightest, but Manning provided a little tutelage to Ainge between the 2004 and 2005 seasons.

amazing that this comes from some unknown blog with "sources" that can't even spell Peyton right in the first sentence.

strong thread

I find it kind of odd that this supposedly happened over the WKU weekend but this article was just published yesterday.

Well, I don't know if the source is credible or not, but if it did happen, I can't say I'd be surprised. It sounds just as bone-headed as some of the on field decisions he's made.

"Crompton’s next move, according to a source, was to excuse himself to the restroom. He never returned."

Peyton should have shown a little more level-headedness here...he should have analyzed the situation a little better. I mean, we're talking about Crompton here...dude probably went walking toward a restroom, locked his eyes on it once he saw it, stared it down the whole way, and then fell in a manhole as result.

Rather than getting pissed off, Peyton should have organized a search party.
