I was reading one of the "next head coach" threads, and it reminded me of what I heard last week on the Sports Animal. Its not my knowledge, just passing along what I heard. Thought I would give t its own thread because VN usually tees off on this subject, and I hadn't seen it posted anywhere else.
Josh Ward was interviewing Clay Travis one day last week, maybe Thursday, and asked him who would be his short list of coaches. I am paraphrasing, but his response was something like Jon Gruden would be his first choice and he knew for a fact that he would be interested in the job now. Didn't elaborate on why or anything, but I've heard before he has land here somewhere

I don't know how much weight Travis's word carries or anything, but thought I would pass it along.
IMHO, If this is the case, let the season play out. If Dooley still hasn't showed anything (beaten a team he shouldn't have, beaten a ranked team, or at least play everybody close), then definitely get Gruden if possible. If Dooley can be competeive the rest of the way, maybe knock off a ranked team, and get the team respect in the league again, maybe he can get it done.
Either way, I am going to support the team and current staff, as always, throughout the season because thats what we should do as true fans. If a change happens, it happens. If it don't, it don't. Still going to sing Rocky Top and rout on the Vols!
