Jon Gruden (Tampa Bay Bucs) discussion

Here's an idea.... If Tn can pay saban type money. i.e 4 million per year, and if 50,000 TN fans would agree to pledge $20 per year for 5 years.... We could offer Gruden $5 million per year. Count me in, I would give up $20 per year for the next 5 years to see Gruden roaming the sidelines in Knoxville.
Tennessee could probably just pay 5 million a year.

Why do people like on Sports Talk keep saying Grudens wife Cindy is from Sevierville? Even heard one say Cocke Co

She went to Jefferson Co High, I know I was there with her in 1980 81 82.

Just shows people dont know what they are talking about

I think she's from Jefferson County. Gruden and she bought their house in Jefferson County; her mother is living in Jefferson County.

Gruden will not leave the NFL for a college football gig. It just doesn't work like that

That's a big step down professionally

UT have to look at young out of work pro coaches or college coaches from smaller programs, those are the only likely candidates

Everything else is just pure BS

Carroll, Saban, Davis how many of you guys are there in the world?

They got fired from the NFL. They couldn't cut it and stepped down a level

You don't leave your job like Gruden has to come to a college program.

It might offer him competitive money and a better family life. Being an NFL coach eats up your whole life. I remember hearing him in an interview saying that he only gets 2-3 hours of sleep during the season, and has a cot in his office. You think his wife and kids like the fact that he doesn't come home most nights for 3 months out of the year? Like most households she probably has a LOT of input on his decision making process. He already has a Superbowl ring, so there is nothing else he has to prove in that league.

I don't know if he'll be the coach, but there are reasons that he should listen.

So he was at the homecoming game and no one in the knoxville media asked him about the possibility? Any news of his appearance at Neyland?
