Jon Gruden (Tampa Bay Bucs) discussion

Anyone want to take a few hundred hours and pull everything important from this thread and post it in a new thread so we can start fresh? :)

Did we ever get any actual proof that there is a "Tennessee" clause in Gruden's contract. I know a lot of people have been speculating about it, but I haven't heard anything concrete.

Saw somewhere else a poster who claims to have talked to Gruden's mother-in-law tonight. She told him that "many people will be surprised".

I want to believe.

LOL! I've never seen anything like this on a message board.

Saban, Meyer, Miles, Richt, Gruden, Peterson (Auburn), Spurrier.

Wow.

I love all these people that keep saying "not going to happen", like they have clairvoyant powers. Its more than likely the same people that said "not going to happen" when talking about if Fulmer would be let go this year or not.

I think everyone saying it's not going to happen has always conceded the caveat that an insane amount of money could change things.

If you want to be the best CFB coach in the country, there is no better place to start than in the SEC.

yes and it your "girlfriend" better not be able to scratch the bottom of your foot or hold a football (also an apendage on said body)

I'd still include Spurrier in that group and you know Auburn is likely to hire a pretty big name coach also.

Lord help us all if the Darth Visor gets hired. And you definitely hold the power to make all of this speculation go away by the disappearing thread act of 2008. Voila, fresh threads. :pepper:

The quote about how Gruden stood in awe at Neyland stadium reminded me of my first visit there... and it's how many could, someday, do the same at Gruden Stadium.

Come to Knoxville, Coach. Win Championships. And we'll build a new one, even bigger and better, with your name in neon. It's that simple.

Tampa Bay Bucs fans will never have the devotion of Vols fans--and you and your wife know that as well as any of us.

Football Saturdays on the Hill will once again bring the excitement of Super Bowl Sunday every time we file in knowing that the Vols are getting ready to kick Saban or Urban's rear ends...again... and again. We won't ever stop enjoying that.

And, most importantly, we don't want you to be a gentleman about it.

Sure, it's plenty of money, but you can't buy that atmosphere in the NFL.

Sign on the dotted line, okay?

I just talked to Jon Gruden's mother-in-law.
She is obviously well aware of all that is being written and stated by many networks, sportscasters, and Tennessee fans about her son-in-law coming to coach at Tennessee. The only thing she said I could share with everyone was that "many people will be surprised."

Ok, Im calling BS on this one. There is a "possibility" that this is true but consider this.
If Gruden has already made up his mind, then we wouldnt have Kiffin in town this week, hired a search firm, or have other boosters talking to other coaches.
Now, I know that Gruden probably can't say anything publicly one way or the other right now, BUT, if he had made up his mind and told his WHOLE family but Hamilton doesn't know, and his mother in law is telling this guy?

Sorry, just dont buy it.
