Jon Gruden (Tampa Bay Bucs) discussion

I don't see Cowher or Gruden coming to college

Mike Leach
Bronco Mendenhall
Chris Peterson
Lane Kiffin
Will Muschamp
Butch Davis

maybe but doubtful Cutcliffe

well, in my opinion its logical that Gruden would consider coming to UT. his wife is from dandridge, tn, and he was a graduated assintant coach for UT in the 80's..but who knows how its gonna go..gotta find somone for sure now.

Yeah Cowher is looking at all of the options out there in the NFL with possibly Minnesota,Detroit,Cincinatti, and some other openings on the way.

Butch Davis is 57 and is busy building a program at UNC,if he leaves it wouldn't be wise.

Kiffin is going to Syracuse without a doubt.

Peterson is an overrated coach, probably headed to UW

Muschamp????

I still think Bronco would be the best hire out of the bunch, guy is classy, tough, and can bring back discipline in the program by not recruiting the fools that Fulmer recruited solely on their talent rather than their common sense.

Petterson being overated is the craziest thing I have heard. The man has only lost like 3 games in 3 years and has beaten OK in the Fiesta bowl, the man is impressive.

Just finished watching Gruden's press conference. Nothing even mentioned by the media. You'd think that they'd be all over it.

Peterson beat OK in the Fiesta Bowl, but OK has lost 4 of its last 5 bowl games.

Boise State has survived solely off of playing weaker talent in the Wac.

just don't see Gruden coming or Davis for that matter but i could be wrong.
im not sure I want them....
gruden nfl coach and davis 57 so not like he would really be here a long time.

We still need to wait a little bit longer

My time to follow TB Bucs and their head coach has officially started.

In a very weak conference 5-2 in the NFC SOUTH. How does that translate to the SEC? You usually dont win SEC championships with that Plus they still have half a season to go and are second in their division.
Yes I'll concede he is a good NFL coach, took Raiders to Super Bowl and then won it with Dungys team, but does that really make a case for him as our coach?

most ridiculous comment i've heard all day

Yeah just like urban and the mountain west I wonder how that hire has turned out for Florida

They are going to offer Gruden and he said that he would be willing to talk. If he likes the deal he will be here. If not than they are going to offer Lane Kiffin.

Clay Travis who's writing a book on the Vols season (traveling with the team) puts Gruden at the top of the list (heard on WJOX interview this afternoon). Not sure what his source is but he claims the Gruden talk is real.

No kidding. Tampa is on top in the NFC South and they don't have a single team under .500 in the division. Am I the only one who things this talk of Gruden or Cowher coming here is absolute madness?

Hope so. I would like to get Gruden or Cowher anyone less is a mistake.

I don't care if it's far-fetched or not...the Gruden talk excites me more than speculation about any other coaching candidate.

That's the kind of hire that immediately put Tennessee in the national spotlight.

He's my "reach for the sky" candidate. The excitement he would bring would be immeasurable. The intimidation factor alone would be priceless.

Probably won't happen, but a man has got to have a dream.

Agreed...until someone else is hired, Gruden is where I pin my hopes.

do we really know what kind of recruiter he would be....that would be my biggest concern with gruden...i trolled around the buccaneers boards just now and while they didn't mention the TN job they seem to want him out anyways....maybe its not as far fetched as i first thought
