I guess you missed the part about having to convince high school kids to come play for your school. Working long hours is one thing (which you have to do in either job) but dealing with high school egos is another altogether. By the way, explain why being an NFL coach is harder.
I brought that up earlier but please explain what that means....... Point still remains, you don't have to go get your players, much less high school children. I don't understand what you don't get about that. And maybe Parcells had no say in the ingedients was because he couldn't evaluate talent, just yell and intimidate. Oh yeah, college coaches are expected to teach the game as well.Yes, because when your players are making more money than you are, they're not going to have an ego.
Bill Parcells once said, being an NFL Head Coach is like being a chef who must cook a great meal, but has no say in the ingredients.
Another reason, look at all the NFL failures who have dominated the College game.
was said today on 104.5 the Zone. It seems as if the Vandy homer George Plaster is pretty sure based on a "source" they have that Gruden is gonna be our next HC. Anyone can to elaborate on this theory??

The recruiting season is virtually year round, coaching is more detailed due to bringing the kids up to the next level, the conference rivalries are way more intense and there isn't a playoff system to fall back on.The one thing alot of NFL coaches complain about is not having enough control over who they get in the NFL. Why would they complain about recruiting?
In College, the season is shorter, the coaching less detailed. Scheduling normally buys a couple of overmatched opponents and postseason opportunities abound.
The NFL presents massive challenges in terms of time, obligations, tactics, personnel. There's a salary cap, free agency etc...

Saying making a BCS bowl is the same as making the playoffs loses credibility of any argument you could make tonight. Get some sleep and come back on Halloween.Making a BCS bowl is equivalent to making the playoffs in the NFL. It isn't something to 'fall back on'. As I said before, most NFL coaches would love to have full control over who they coach. I'm not sure why they would see recruiting as a problem. Dealing with ego's wouldn't be a problem when in the NFL, your players make more than you do. Not to mention the competition in the NFL every week is tough. Not so in College.
