Johnny majors was sitting in my section. He gave us a big pep talk at halftime. Said not to give up that we were going to stuff them on defense and we were going to run it down their throats and come back and win. Good pep talk and seems he knows what he's talking about. He left section after half and said he was going to go suit up and get out there and play.

I shook hands with him once at Beaty Chevrolet. He's not a large man but has hands like Andre the Giant. He was very cordial and took time to chat with me a while. Classy guy.

saw him on way to game last week, walking alone. He acknowledged my 5 year old son but was annoyed by my difficulty getting my cell phone camera to work. I'll never forget him responding to me telling him abut my childhood of studying up and him and his family and growing up with him as coach by saying "let's move this thing along, son. I gotta go". He then told me to make sure I got the pic. Then told me I need to "figure out how to work that thing". I understood, I was holding him up, I was thankful he stopped for me and made sure I got the pic. I'm sure if he had more time he would have talked a minute or two. Love that guy.

I caught him waiting to get his car fixed and you caught him out for a stroll. I guess the Chevy dealer held him up and not me. We talked about how slow the service dept was too. I think that was the ice breaker.
