worked hard? how did he lose ever big game, and get blown out in 2 of the last 4 games his senior year

Just because you lose a game doesnt mean you didnt work hard. Crompdaddy gave his all and put up with alot of b.s. for the majority of his collegiate career. Hes got my total respect.

Congrats to JC. Very glad he got everything put together for his final year.

Even if he's a clipboard holder.....Jim Sorgi made $1.6M last year doing it. Not a bad gig at all.

That said, go make your mark on the NFL. Best of luck.

I am really happy for him. I was certainly one of his haters early on. I am so proud of him and the character he has shown. This is well deserved for him, and I wish him all the luck.

Are you serious?
1. Nowhere close to biggest underachieving season. 2005 was so long ago, so I can see how you forgot it.......
2. This team isn't and wasn't stacked with talent.

To me one of the biggest under achieving years was the 1999 season. Coming off the national championship to go 9-3. Think back about the 2000 draft. The Vols had seven players taken in the first two rounds.

ive got to hand it to Lane Kiffin too, for the biggest underachieving vols season of all time! his team was stacked with talent on both sides of the ball.

Are you kidding?

We had Scott and McClendon on the line... with a RS Freshman at RT and 2 walkons at C and LG and a converted DT at RG. Having Berry doesn't make up for the fact that we had to start a Freshman at FS and we had little to no rotational depth and experience at DT and LB. Big Dan was a talent, but he couldn't do it alone... not to mention the worst rash of bad luck for injuries in our LB corps.

Kiffin inherited a team with a broken mentality, spirit and work ethic. They were on squads that flat-out quit in games. Even having a winning season was a significant accomplishment... sending these guys to the NFL was just keeping a promise. Kiffin was exactly what this team needed after 2 losing seasons in 4 years... and an outright losing record against all rivals. If not for Kiffin Crompton, Scott and probably McClendon would have gone undrafted if not severely fallen in rounds and Williams would have been lucky to be a 2nd Rounder. Berry still would have gone Top 5.

He's still a snake and an arrogant arse, but you've got to be kidding me about the turn around he performed on this team. Ole Miss is the only game I don't think we were adequately prepared for.

Who would of thought at the beginning of this season and all that he has been trough that Johnathan Crompton would get drafted.

Hardesty fumbled but just not on rushing plays. I believe the number lost for Foster was 4

this. Those 4 fumbles came at the worst possible time so they obviously have to be tripled. Sometimes i wonder if our fan base just makes things up sometimes.... Foster was productive back before that year of crap we had.

I think the Chargers are a good team for him to go to. It's a good system and he can learn from Rivers whos a pretty darn good QB. Though I am not a Crompton fan I wish him the best! GO VOLS!!!

Just got a nice shoutout by the panel. Said they liked him the best out of those drafted TODAY. Liked his skill set and that he played in a pro-style offense at UT.

Little late to the party, but another HUGE shout-out to JC. Showed a lot of heart and work ethic to be able to get himself back to a draftable condition.

Good hustle, hopefully we'll get to see you throw a couple passes within the next few years, and if we're really lucky, de-throne that classless knucklehead in front of you on the depth chart.

After sitting through the UCLA game last year I would have never thought in a million years he would ever see the NFL other than on TV... Congrats to Crompton! I will be cheering for you. Go Vols!

I think this is about the best place for JC. He gets to learn under a really great QB, as well as a great QB-minded coach (wasn't Norv Turner Dallas' QB coach or OC when Aikman was there?). He gets to sit for a few years, and as along as SD keeps winning he'll get the stability that he never had a UT.

Congrats to Crompton...I'm gonna admit I was one of the guys who had my doubts and was fed up with him at the beginning of last year, but I'm glad to see he's turned it around and has become an NFL quarterback. Best of luck to him.

I was the same way. Congrats to Crompdaddy

:hi:

Congrats to JC & VolNation.

Big turnaround for JC. Not long ago there were a lot of UT fans throwing him under the bus. He endured a lot. Best of luck to him.
