NOT SAYING AT ALL THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN, BUT JUST A LITTLE INTERESTING THOUGHT THAT MIGHT KINDA CHEER YA UP, How bout John Parker Wilson is due for a bad game and don't even say he already has had one against Kentucky because he didn't that was more the running backs than him and another thing, bama comes to Knoxville and gets knocked off, that would send shockwaves through the nation.

see, the sad thing is that we are hoping that another team's qb has a bad game so we can win. you should get a one year extension. and...are you drunk? seriously...the more i read this the worse it sounds. his worst game looks like our qb's best right now.

If he had a bad game, they'd probably still win. UT just struggled to beat the #91 team NIU. I don't give them much shot against #1.

Oh man, i'm not drunk it is pretty sad man, i guess this is just a time we all get together as fans and just hope for the best and try to ward off the worst.

We have to beat Bama. Because we aren't going to beat Georgia, and I will sink into a deep dark depression if we don't beat one of our rivals. And don't think I'm forgetting Vandy. I'm not.

Actually we have played Kentucky more than any other team and their coach is thinking they are supposed to be a rival themselves you know and except for one bad play they would have beaten the #2 (maybe #1 after Saturday) and what if Missippi state knocks of a 5-0 Vandy, can they sustain a two game SEC winning streak?? Croom has been quite the headhunter you know with marquis wins over top notch SEC power houses, heck he is 2-0 vs Bama the last couple of years and don't forget the Game chickens, Spurrior has had Phil's number over the years don't forget.

Jeez, is that enough to melt your crayons or what???

Oh, we aren't going to beat Georgia, why would you say that??

What do you do while you are in one of your deep dark depressions, figure things will get progressively worse until it's as bad as it can get and then it suddenly gets worse than you could possibly imagine???

Clue, drugs for that problem have been invented.

Dude, I have crossed paths with the doom-sayers of this site many times for my optimistic point of view.

I am a glass-half full guy and I still think we lose to UGA. Too many things are going for them. We are absolutely atrocious this year offensively. We haven't proved we can move the ball effectively against ANYBODY WE HAVE PLAYED. Second, UGA is out for revenge. We beat them soundly the last two meetings and they are out for blood. UGA will not look past this game and they will be ready to play.

Third, it's in their stadium.

So, there is my formula for losing to UGA.

As far as Kentucky, there is no way we lose. You failed to mention we have the longest consecutive winning streak against any one team vs. UK. We won't lose that game. We can't. It's been 34 years since they beat us.

So get off my jock, bro. I am a Volunteer tried and true. I am an optimist, but this season has been horrible so far. We would have to make the biggest improvement in recent history on offense to have any shot at UGA.

Your what-ifs are huge stretches also. MSU hasn't beaten anyone this year and Vandy is on a roll.

I don't know why you're spouting off the schedule like I haven't looked at it. It's my background for Pete's sake. I KNOW WHO WE PLAY.

How's that kool-aid taste?

Bama fans here are worried about the UT game. They are worried they're gonna be #2 (or they hope #1) on October 25 and go into Neyland Stadium, and walk out with a loss to an unranked team. Their humiliation factor if that were to happen is seriously messing with them. And while I don't have the same intensity of emotion as their fear produces, YES, I would LOVE to watch Bama go down at UT. (You understand they're aren't fearful of the present UT team, they are fearful of the potential. Any given Saturday, ya know. ;) )

SEC Football. It's what Saturdays are made for!!!! GO VOLS!!!!!

I,m sure they're just quaking in their boots. Probably about whether they will cover the spread. If we get within 21 of them it will have taken one of our best efforts to date this year. You forget we made Wilson look like a heisman candidate last year. I think I would take their chances vs. ours about 10 times out of 10.
And that is a pitiful thing to have to say since we used to own them.:mf_surrender:

Defense. defense. defense. If Georgia has a difficult time scoring, then the Vols' offense does not need to perform much better to win. The Vols have won 3-of-4 over the Dawgs, and the last 2 in Athens. Dawg fans here in Dalton talk cocky, but act very nervous. The recent success that UT has over the Dawgs plus the 9-game streak in the 90s really has them all mixed up. I remember some really good if not great UT teams lose to some sorry Alabama teams because of the mental edge. The difference here is that this UT team has way more talent than those Alabama teams that always upset the Vols.

With the exception of one year in my memory, Fulmer's teams have always had the tendency to play up or down to the level of the competition. His teams also start the season slow or downright bad, and make improvements as they go. The problem this year is real problems at the QB position and offensive line........but I say all that to say this, this team can beat Georgia or Alabama because of the defense. I'm not saying I expect it to happen, but I wouldn't ever bet against it.
