John Palermo hired as DL coach

Should be awesome....Middle Tennessee State..Tennessee Tech....Memphis just a few of his last stops. :eek:lol:

I think technique wise, we're in good shape. Now it's just up to him how long he wants to stay at this job, and he probably will not be an all-world recruiter. But I think it's extremely rare to find someone who can bring a long consistent resume of solid coaching and solid recruiting at the same time. Sunseri is the awesome recruiter with less coaching experience, so Palermo brings good balance to the staff.

Got a great position coach resume. Not so good as HC.:clapping::pepper:
Now rumored Colts ST coach in it

Let's try to not be too hasty. Let's see what shows up on the field before we go off the deep end on the guy.

While at Wisconsin, Palermo produced four first-team All-Americans, and his players were named first-team All-Big Ten a total of nine times. His players were selected Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year four times and two were named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. Eight of Palermo's defensive linemen have been chosen in the first six rounds of the NFL draft, including two, Wendell Bryant in 2002 and Erasmus James in 2005, who were taken in the first round. James was a consensus All-American and the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. Palermo's entire 2004 defensive line was selected in the 2005 NFL draft

Why do you all not think he will be good at recruiting? I don't know how any of you can know that. I read that his players love him.
