I posted this in another thread, but this is how the Rodney Garner thing works...

a) We contact him and say we are interested
b) He gets excited again about us and says let's talk!!
c) We start tracking planes
d) Mark Richt begins to panic
e) Garner is ready to take the job
f) Garner's wife walks in screaming, tells Rodney that She will never leave Delta, and shuts the whole things down.
g) Georgia gives him ANOTHER raise
h) We are back to square one
i) 2 years later....whole process repeats again

Strangely I am here talking about how stupid it is to resign a job without having a new one, and both of us had it work out very well. Funny how things work out sometime. Makes you think Someone else is looking out for us!

Yeah, I figured Palermo would get that job. Larry tipped that one. He is ok. I think Hart & Dooley are intentionally trying to bring on a couple of older coaches (50+ age) who have been around to help steady the ship.

I am not real stoked on this hire.

Not an upgrade from CLT IMO.

And he is not going to do any real heavy recruiting.

My one concern is whether he will be able to recruit at a high level. I think he'll be fine as a coach though.

As SpringBok said above, I have a feeling he's not going to recruit very well. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm afraid this generation of kids are going to have a difficult time relating to him.
