John Kelly statement on the next head coach

All except for Jalen Hurd, right????

No, no, no. Jones helped create the Jalen Hurd monster, he clearly lied to him from the get-go.

It’s beyond clear that Jones did this with pretty much all his recruits/players. Yet only one player quit in the middle of the season/middle of a game on his teammates and was subsequently voted off the team.....Jalen Hurd. That’s why he’s reviled by the fan base, regardless of Jones’ role in Hurd’s eventual action.

Not surprised by his comment, all you had to do was watch the games and the look on his face. It became clear layer in the season he was being told to run to the spot the play called for instead of making a play himself when there was no hole created by the line. Watch his face after he ran into a pile time and time again instead of bouncing it out like he did last year and the being of this year.

Lyle didn’t want playmakers, he wanted the players to run his plays no matter how horribly they failed. He micromanaged the talent out of most of our players by insisting they do things his way instead of a way that actually worked.

But Hurd was crucified on this board when he stood up to the Liar

200.webp

Ya need to send Hurd and apology

Hurd quite on his team mates in the middle of a frickin game!

That is the MOST SELFISH thing he could have done even if all the Butch misrepresented to recruits when, where, how they got to play.

Never, ever, NEVER quit on your team mates. He did and I have ZERO respect for The Quitter.

I felt last year this was the case. Me and some buddies talked about this very same thing about how Butch likely lied to him about the Power I (among other things). I don't hold it against him, but I do think the timing and how he did it was the worst possible way he could have done it.

Jones lies:
Family atmosphere. Lie
Everyone will get a bowl ring. Lie
Everyone will go to the bowl game. Lie
Everyone will be treated equal. Lie
Everyone will run through the T. Lie
You’ll be a starter. Lie
You will fit in our scheme. Lie
Tuttle falling on a helmet. Lie
Etc. I could go on and on

Also, I'm sure we all figured as much anyways, but I assume this means John Kelly is returning for his senior year?

EVEN AINGE saying several times the last day that Jones wasn’t honest many times in his pressers.

And for all the haters, Swain been saying this for about a year.......Jones was dishonest with his players from the beginning of their recruitment up and until they either left/transferred or are now on the team but grew to not be very happy with/respectful of Jones.

It's hard to tell what Ainge is saying in between all of the Butch worship and carrying his bathwater, so forgive us for not catching it when he said it.

I would bet so. The marijuana charge while not that major cost him some $$$ this year.

Comes back and stays clean & puts up good #'s he gets that $$$ he lost with the charge back + some

Kelly's statement is Obviously geared toward what he wants from his new coaching staff.

It has Nothing to do with Butch Jones.

Are we missing your sarcasm here? Please elaborate.....cause any sane, serious person sees that comment for what it is....a direct shot at his former coach.

I agree. But I’ve noticed him backtracking a bit this week regarding Jones, trying to restore some credibility imo. He’s point blank said several times now that Jones wasn’t honest with his team and the fan base. Quite the departure from the last several weeks.

Hurd will always be a POS to me. You don't quit on your teammates in the middle of a ****in game.. TWICE that sack of **** did it. **** him.

Frankly, Im tired of these kids complaining all of the time about something. Its a cold hard business boys and if you think youre not going to get lied to, screwed over, used, etc in business world, think again.

I'll bet Kelly lied a time or two also. Especially when he claimed the pot in his car wasn't his.

If true, then Currie is more incompetent than I thought. Currie should have fired him immediately! Surely that's not completely accurate. If so, we should be discussing Currie's replacement now.

I don't get the hate for the AD. He did what everyone wanted, about five weeks later than most wanted but he did it and we are now moving on. Incompetent is a strong word for someone who has yet to even hire a coach.

This...Butch wrote too many checks he couldn't cash while recruiting, imo.

Hurd took a physical beating. Beyond any other player on the team.

Was put back in the game after displaying concussion symptoms.

Coaches didn't protect him. Nor did his teammates.

But it was Jones lies that drove him to it. If Jones did not lie to him no of the other stuff would've happened.

Yeah, no.

Too many reports of his HS behavior.

And no, I can't sum them up now. You'd have to go dig through the old thread. But it did not sound as if his attitudes and actions here were something new for him.

Jones being a jerk doesn't mean that Hurd wasn't one as well.

Jones is gone.
His integrity or lack of integrity is no longer important to me.
He will soon be a forgotten drip in the ocean of life.

And, like the doofus before him, Derek Dooley, he will leave a rich man never really needing to work again. It is hard to see how any serious college football program would ever look at Jones again, nor doofus Dooley. Both Jones and Dooley failed on the biggest stage in college football, the SEC. Neither was ready for "prime time."
