Wishd he ran like that at UT. Oh yeah, he did before he bailed both physically and mentally. Not a true VFL IMO. Not bc he left early, bc he didn’t give his all for Tennessee. Sorrynotsorry

When you have a head coach that has bailed it is hard not to bail. The same could be said about Tyler Bray except I think that Bray's attitude was bad when he first stepped on campus. Even with Butch, for the first four years, Tennessee was known as a team that played with heart and played hard until the very end of the game. That was a comment that Steve Superior made after his last losing effort. As far as coaching effort was concerned I thought that was Bush's strong point. He unfortunately just knew nothing about football.

I’m not good with acronyms, but you have eyes. And everyone in here with eyes could see. He was at UT during a tough time, but so were about 1000 other athletes since 2008. At least JK got his ticket though.

Lol. There were games where Kelly was our leading rusher and receiver. He was basically our entire offense last year. Your post shows stupidity of an epic level.

I have no idea where your line of thinking is coming from. I don’t feel this way at all. What did I miss? Please educate me on JK.

I thought John Kelly always did his best at Tennessee.
Didn't he lead the entire SEC in rushing for the first 6 games of the season last year?
He seemed to run so hard that everyone used to say, "He runs 'angry.'"
His body of work was enough to show league scouts what he could offer so he opted to advance.

He could have run 1,500 yards for us last season and the team still would have finished 4-8.

When a player moves on, it' something to celebrate. It means their time at Tennessee gave as much
to them as they gave to Tennessee while they played.

Yes, it would be nice to have the most talented players always stay for their senior year,
but times have changed. It's best to just realize that to avoid letting it get you so bitter like that.
Besides, it's not a bad thing at all for recruiting when talented high school prospects see Vols
who play the same position go to the NFL because:

1. It shows they can do it too

and

2. The spot that player used to occupy on the roster can be filled.

As an old-school fan, I can see where you're coming from, but as tough a pill as it is to swallow,
like it or not, that's just the way it is these days.

Remember how excited we all were when Peyton decided to stay?

Even back then it was somewhat a surprise because he could have punched his ticket as the top draft pick or at least
the top 5 a year early if he wanted to. Players had already started to leave early years before then, so it's not like it's
unheard of, you know?

Let's celebrate John Kelly and all the other VFLs who contributed their time and talents to Tennessee while they were here
to the extent it earned them that opportunity to play professionally. After all, one of the big factors of them getting drafted
was because of what the scouts saw of their performance while they played for Tennessee, so if they didn't give their all while they were at Tennessee, it's likely they wouldn't be where they are today in the NFL.

We watched two different players. I saw a guy bringing it last year. When his OL became a consortium of walk-ons, it can be easily mistaken as a give up. Gave everything for all 3 years imo.

Except for that time he got caught with pot and had to miss a game. If he gave his all for UT he wouldn’t have broken the law and team rules by using pot. By doing so he put himself before the team imho.

I can see that thinking, but I’m talking about the FIELD. I give him a pass because by that point, that WHOLE TEAM needed a lot of pots!

Could not "hate" this post.

So I had to like all the ones that came after, pointing out its childish selfish mindless nature.

Ok fans, no matter what you think you sacrifice, no matter what you give get and deserve, it will always be a fraction of the investment that a student athlete must make.

Donors may be an exception, but not really. Fans can always turn it off whenever convenient, they can throw fits without being judged, they can let their intensity level drop and get drunk, or just go fishing if things go poorly on the field.

That's why fans aren't VFL'S, and players are. Fans are just casual, upjumped whiny spectators. John Kelly gets suspended for weed, whereas I have a halftime bong ritual.

Individually we just aren't near as important as we think we are.
