Awesome! John Henderson as much as anyone was responsible for the 2001 Win at Florida. AND, he said it in an USA TODAY interview that game week . "We are going down there to win the damn game." Based on that, I told my Florida Tile sales reps that UT would win the game, (I just felt it too) they laughed biggly. Welp, I never saw those same sales reps again!! LMAO. GO Big John!!Announced today.
Albert was not better, not even close. Big John won the Outland Trophy and multiple All-America.Albert was better
They were two completely different players. Haynesworth was more of a run stuffer who had little vertical rush skills then. He stuffed a lot of double teams and some didn’t show up a ton. You would see him always at the LOS with two guys on him, not going back or forward. Henderson was very good at penetration and causing havoc. Both have their value. Go back and look at the UGA drive where we lost in the last drive and you will see exactly the difference in the two.Albert was not better, not even close. Big John won the Outland Trophy and multiple All-America.
I never, ever saw big John take one snap off. He played every down like it was his last. Lazy Albert played when he wanted, but took most snaps off by being lazy.
Your opinion is pretty offensive, but oh well
The real legit question is......
Was John Henderson's career at UT better than Reggie White's at UT?
Coach Dan Brooks. That's all. Have sucked on def sinceGreat big John Henderson was the kind of player you absolutely must have to compete at the highest level. When they say you need dudes to win at the highest level they are talking about big John - can't think of a single player in all the years I've been watching Vols (since mid 80's) who made this case better. Those were the good old days when we had more dudes like him than Bama and Georgia and it was not an accident we dominated them back in those days. Sadly it's been a very long time we have not been able to compete for these types of players (with few exceptions over the years but not enough), and they pretty much dominated everyone since Saban and Kirby got there for the exact same reason - it's actually less about skill positions than having those types of dudes - that's what's most important to win in the SEC long term.
