You say that now, but most people here were calling him far worse before he was let go. The donut and fat jokes ran wild on VN before suddenly we all respected him again.

Not all of us, his coaching record is beyond reproach when taken in totality. As a person, I agree with Currie.

So how was Blackburn a TN guy?

Here's a pretty good description....

-Grew up a Vols fan in Loudon

-graduated from UT after serving two years as head football student manager and student assistant under head coach Johnny Majors.

-He joined UT Athletics in a full-time capacity in 1992 and has served in a number of roles, including five years as an assistant athletics director for football administration under head coach Philip Fulmer.

- spent 20+ years overall in Athletic Deparment, eventually rising up to Associate Athletic Director

-currently works in the University of Tennessee system down in Chattanooga

If that ain't a "Tennessee guy", what is?

What does P5 experience have to do with the Chancellor's role?

P5 is relevant to athletics. Chancellors deal primarily with academics. She wanted an Athletic Director with P5 experience. She isn't the AD.

I don't know that it's a wonderful hire, but for God's sake, at least be logical in your criticism.

Why?
Wouldn't you rather have a Chancellor who has had to hire P5 coaches? Why is one a valid criteria and not the other.
