I see nothing wrong with Currie at all, it just seems he will be known for managing the finances well and making sure everything runs okay.

I had grown accustomed to the idea of having someone that would come in and shake things up a bit. Feels like we've been stuck in the middle at so many sports, I was just wanting a little risk-taking. Which can also fail. Don't get me wrong. I just believe we needed a kick in the azz, not just steady management.

Went to lunch, came back and boom! Got a new AD, finally. Read the thread and agree the most with you both.

I have no control over any of this, just hope for the best and move on.

Edit: I forgot, after reading the thread, a few of you need help. Lol.

Not in basketball or football obviously, basketball hire started out well with Martin's recruits. Since, he has really struggled. Football went 6-7 two years ago but rebounded to 9-4 this year.

I hope none of the Hamilton stink rubbed off on him. Heaven help us if he learned to negotiate contracts Hamtastic style.

most schools hang on to coaches for long periods of time for financial reasons. Is he smart at negotiating contracts is the big question.

Frank Martin is a mediocre coach, why are they crying about Frank Martin?

He hasn't fired anyone. Baseball coach has had 3 straight losing seasons and more losing seasons than winning seasons in 15 years. Apparently, winning at Kansas St is rare.

Fan base showing its utter lack of knowledge. John Currie is highly respected in the business. But hey don't let that interfere with your middle school meltdown!!!

Currie is a Wake Forest guy...Like Hamilton. He got his Master's at UT.

He was brought here under Hamilton, unlike Blackburn who was here putting his dues in prior.

Blackburn is family...Currie is not.

I hope he does well. Blackburn will, wherever he lands. Maybe he stays at UTC, but more likely he winds up at a P5, hopefully not SEC, program very soon.

Football:Snyder 9-4 this year, 6-7 in 2015 but with the occasional big year, 9-4 is really good for KSU, they have an all time losing record.

Basketball: losing record last 3 years in league, 49-45 overall in same span, is on the hot seat but should have already been fired (according to KSU, everyone knows fans are always right)

Baseball: intrigues me, worst of all 3 sports. Horrible record, 3 straight losing seasons, 4 of 6 years this decade have been losing and 9 out of 15. Do they not care?

Which segways into, its KANSAS ST. Really can't judge him off KSU. They don't care if they win or lose. He was an accountant for them and just managed the books, which seems like he did well. Going forward, the AD side of finance looks firm, no one really knows the coaching hiring and firing part because in jest, he has yet to do it in an entire decade. Concerning?

I'd say no, KSU athletics is a hobby, at Tn, its life.

Well, looks like between this guy and jones they want to stress a family like environment first. The fact that he was here during Dooley years bothers me.

I think to judge him off the success K State has had under his tenure we would need to know more about their programs historical success.

How has their football, basketball, and baseball team done?

Answer to my own question: Baseball is all time .501% winning program, basketball .590%, and football .451%.

Gonna be fun win Blackburn ends up at Arkansas or replaces Cunningham at UNC and makes UT look dumber than they already do. I don't get it. Blackburn has done everything he thought he had to do to get this job. It's nonsense. By the time he is successful at a P5 school (as he apparently has to be to get UT job, he will be a tougher get and may be so ticked he wont come to UT.
