John Currie has a plan...

Considering the AD came out before the season and said that Sumlin had to win in the back half of the season to keep his job, A&M regent Anthony Buzbee publicly stated that he needed to be fired after the UCLA loss, and that there are reports coming out of A&M's athletic department that they have already instructed the communications department to prepare for his exit at the end of the season.

I'd say the situations are quite different.

Before the season?, where does that hold any relevance to his current actions? There is a reason his comments were vague in that sense. What does "win in the back half of the season" even mean? Just more than he has been? Beat specific teams? Win all of them?

Why was he not fired after UCLA?

Can’t sleep 😴 for 16 hours a day, his head hurts day in and day out, stays nervous 24/7, comes in at work and can’t focus, paces the hallways all day, slams his hands or fist against his desk, has to get caffeine or a cole, coffee every 15 minutes, his hair is turning gray, has to talk to someone on the phone every 20 minutes, nervous and jittery when he is driving his car, impatient waiting fo redlight, can’t hold anything in his hands, his eyes 👀 has black rings and circles under them. I hope he is pale at work, snaps, cluttery, papers all over his desk, can’t clean, teeth yellow, old and getting senile, jumps his workers until they tell him to do the right thing now, hope the pressure of his body is tightening, hurting is in his feet for pacing the floors day and night.

Welcome to the 🔥 fire Currie!!

Uhhhhhh what?

I think Currie has a plan that was given to him by the Haslam family. That plan is keep Butch Jones if at all possible .

If at all possible?

He's the AD. They are the equivalent of the First Family of UT boosters.

If they want him there after 0-12, he'd be there unless he quit.

Until I see otherwise, Currie's plan is to keep the Haslams happy by any means possible. We all know what that likely means.

Friends... just relax and let this thing play out.

Knee jerk responses to short term pressure most often lead to TERRIBLE decisions. All we fans are doing is ratcheting up the short term pressure, with all these rowdy posts & tweets and boycott threats aimed at Currie.

If we can see, from the outside, that Butch isn't the coach to bring UT football back to where it belongs, then the folks on the inside can see it. I trust that Currie, and the trustees, have arrived at that conclusion, as well.

With that in mind, I like the silence from the AD. I like that he isn't tipping his hand and appears to be taking his time.

It gives me confidence that, whatever decision is made, will be made with the best possible chance of it being the correct decision. It is way past time for the RIGHT decisions to be made and, if I were Currie, I'd be keeping my mouth shut... my head down... and doing everything within my ability to get this right.

Every possibility needs to be soberly evaluated. To accomplish that takes time.
