So there are those on VN and many VFL's that believe that Currie has a master plan, that has ahead of the curve and has a coach ready to go.

The link tells me he doesn't. I really think that we are all going to be blindsided at the lack of vision and direction our AD has.

It should be fairly obvious what the plan is.

What I’m more concerned about is if the plan falls through. Is there a Plan B? Or are we just gong to bank on Mullen learning how to recruit?

1. I would be shocked if Tennessee is contacting anyone about the football program...directly or indirectly, as I do not have faith in them.

2. This is pretty common for coaching candidates to deny they have had contact with a program. If anyone involved in the Vols coaching search had reached out to Chip Kelly, it would not be direct contact. It would be through his agent, allowing him to deny, like he is doing.

So Currie has no plan because you think it doesn’t include a guy who isn’t a good fit for Tennessee, who hates recruiting and whose most recent efforts in the college ranks got him an NCAA show cause? Alrighty then.

Question 1: Why is there any reason whatsoever for me to believe that a no name goof on the internet with a bush league podcast and Twitter handle has any sort of inside scoop on a possible Tennessee coaching search?

Question 2: Why would anyone from either party admit to being contacted about becoming a coach for a position that isn't available? Especially to said no name goof on the internet with a bush league podcast and twitter handle?

No I think he has no plan because we've seen absolutely nothing to indicate that he does. Name one action or word he's spoke indicating he has a plan beyond upgrading the stadium.

All of my hopes with UT football is that he has been working and has Gruden all lined up.

My money is on John Currie has a plan but the plan is severely flawed. Why do I say this? Real simple, for the past four or five weeks the pressure keeps building, we are losing recruits, and all kinds of negative stories are coming out of Knoxville. The fan base is almost in riot mode.

What is Currie's response to the building crumbling? SILENCE and a condescending attitude! His attitude to the fan base reminds me of his mentor, Hamilton.

An administration with any common sense would have come out and said SOMETHING if for no other reason than to let the fan base and recruits know they are committed to excellence. The silence is deafening and demonstrates an administration in total chaos!

Bottom line, what is being spoken by silence is Tennessee no longer cares about championships and fielding a quality team. I fear what General Neyland created is now past history. We are acting and performing like a lower tier SEC program AND HAVE BEEN FOR THE PAST TWELVE YEARS! No commitment and leadership from the administration at UT!

Currie, prove me wrong!!!!!!

recruits would decommit even faster after a firing. Odds are it sends everything into worse chaos. Silence speaks volumes that work is being done behind the scenes. Get real.

I have no blind faith left in Currie. He's Haslams lap dog. Blackburn should have been hired instead we have an also ran. The Neyland Stadium renovation meetings reminded me so much of Hamilton.

They don't care because they know no matter what they're going to sell 97,000 tickets.

No idea if he has a plan or not.

What does seem apparent, is that our recruits (or, more accurately, former recruits) don’t want to play for our program anymore.

I really think that Coach Jones will be back next year. Wow. Can’t believe it either, but that’s where all the signs are pointing.

Oh well. I’ll be a Vol fan until I die. I just hope the pain stops sometime in the foreseeable future.

Maybe not if an administration let recruits know they will be coming to a program that will provide them with a great fan base and coaches that will make them the best football player possible! THAT MESSAGE HAS NOT BEEN COMMUNICATED! The fan base is deteriorating and recruits are leaving because of the silence and lack of leadership! Get real!

How do you communicate that to recruits DURING a coaching change? Are players lining up to go to Florida right now while they’re looking for a coach?

Right now it's all speculation and rumors, but Currie is a 'yes man' to the Haslam's in my opinion. He won't make any move with Butch until it has the Haslam's blessing. Assuming he does fire Butch, the replacement will have the stamp of approval from the Haslam's. I hope I'm wrong because a Haslam hire would undoubtedly be a bad one, but this is just the feeling I'm getting.

I am with you brother! However, I am to the point until I see a real commitment to excellence by UT leadership my days at Neyland are over! No games or merchandise. I know the administration doesn't care what I think or do but I have a feeling there are more that feel like I do!

Agree. However, I won't be making any more donations, buying season tickets or making any 4.5 hour drives to Knoxville to see anything more than my family.

They've just taken the joy out of football. Heck, there's always the swimming, soccer and all the other sports Currie does enjoy commenting on.
