Tennessee and Ohio State are the only two teams who have never lost 8 games in one season. I hope John Currie is thinking about this TODAY.

We can still salvage two more wins if we get stabilised with an interim ASAP. Although I like the idea of Butch owning the Bama beatdown, right now this season has two remaining goals:

1. Get to 5 wins
2. Hire Jon Gruden

Butch has lost the team and I don't think he will be able to find two more wins this season. We need an interim to try to find a team that can make some positives happen against Alabama in order to get the team prepared for a final season drive.

Letting Butch fail harder against Alabama could be harmful. Get the interim in place as soon as possible and start prepping the office for Gruden.

Can't believe how many people think Gruden is going to take a pay cut to work 10 times as hard.

Lots of money and doing little isn't a motivator for all people. Some people like doing what they love even if it takes up more time. Jon Gruden could just love coaching.

And everything I've read about him getting up at 5am everyday watching film lets me know he loves coaching.

The only reason Jon Gruden would come here is because of the ESPN layoffs. ESPN is hemorrhaging money and after that last round of layoffs, maybe he's looking for something a bit more stable. Unfortunately he will not find stability at the University of Tennessee with that athletic department.

Gruden loves using UT to get pay raises for the job he actually loves. He could have been back as a coach anytime he wanted. And come 2018 Gruden will be at ESPN making more money and laughing his arse off at us.

EVH,

I hope Currie isn't concerned about UT never losing 8 games. That's a pretty stupid thing to focus on.

I'd rather him focus on how to get the program to contend.

When someone mentions Gruden I just scroll over it. Same with those that believe Peyton comes here If offered. If Gruden wanted to be coaching he would be. He has a pretty good laid-back life where he gets to travel, be around the game, and spend time with his family. Why in the world would he want to come to Tennessee and risk it.

As NFL ratings fall -- he just might get laid off --- They still would rather pay that buffoon Stephen A Smith his big contract than Gruden

I can't figure out why so many people want to hire a guy who hasn't coached at all in 10 years, who has never been a College coach and was mostly considered to be only a better than average NFL Coach in Gruden.

When Tennessee has the chance to possibly go out and higher the hottest unemployed coach available (Kelly) or any handful of coaches that have been and are successful in the college game (Franklin, Patterson, Mullins, Peterson, Petrino)

Here you go Behr...I'll ramp it up a bit!

EVH, Currie could go hire a coach that could go 5-7 every season and UT still wouldn't have lost 8 games in a year. By your account, that's acceptable, right?

Only DAs believe Gruden or Manning will coach here. They can make more money in the profession if that's what they chose with less pressure and in a better work environment than UT can offer.

For someone who could just love coaching and could of had a top tier job ANY year, he has been out of coaching a loooooooooong. Time.😃😃😃

Watching ESPN collapse will be a beautiful thing.

Yes Boca, that's exactly what he meant
. Winning 5 games every year is acceptable.

You got him. And me. You win.

If Currie allows Butch to finish the season, I think we go 0-8 in the SEC. This is the worst team that UT has ever fielded. We are extremely lucky not to be 1-5.

They follow the narrative and don't use common sense. Nothing suggests he would even be a good college coach let alone great coach, people can't help themselves. He hated rookies and still does, what would he do to freshmen? Eat them?

As for the second part, competition just arrived. Auburn has essentially told Gus that he has to beat Ga AND Bama to keep his job. Before the year, it was either or but they don't like losing to their rivals. Somehow, if they lost close to Ga and beat Bama, I say he's safe but that is just my opinion.

Expect a deal to be written in principle for Kelly for AU by Friday. Up to Gus to save his job but plenty of time for Kelly to mull over that job. AU has showed it doesn't care to do a deal behind Gus' back.

You must be pretty young. I've seen some pretty bad teams and while this team is not very good, it's far the worst TN team I've ever witnessed.
