Like the UT ties but he has no head coaching experience. No more on the job training for the next head coach please.

It's amazing how good third and chavis looks with studs playing. Question is could he get those kinda players here.

He looked good here, too.

It's tough to constantly stop the other team when your offense goes three and out every single drive. And that pretty much sums up all of UT's poor seasons (2002, 2005, and 2008) under the Fulmer years.

(Remember when 8-5 was considered a "poor season" rather than a "great season"? Seems like such a long time ago.)

Chavis does well with big time athletes... Chavis does NOT do well on the recruiting trail.

Now that would be novel. Third and Chavis would find ways to lose games at the end. Does this mean as head coach he could find a way to give the game away before it even starts?

What do you think VN? How about head coach John Chavis?

Oh NO NO NO!. As much as I admire Chavis, he has a weakness that showed through tonight when LSU faced Alabama. Yes, Chavis could probably do a fair job as a head coach, BUT he is terrible at the two minute defense. His soft zone coverage will be picked apart in close games. That caused problems when he was with Tennessee, and it happened again tonight if you happened to be paying attention during the final drive of the LSU/Alabama game. Try Again!

Thanks. I`ve been posting Chavis for weeks. I sure didn`t expect this much negativity. I was thinking he`d have good recruiting ties in La. which is state w most nfl players per capita. I guess vn doesn`t see it that way. Of course Gruden is#1. If not him,we need a black coach imo 4 recruiting. Bama is going to make EVERY COACH LOOK INEPT,VN! They are a juggernaut atm. Idespise it too.Half my fam isfrom Bama

I`m going to laugh when Gruden hires him to be D.C.lol Hey I`m convinced. NO Chavis! imo if we can`t afford Gruden,we need a black coach.
