LSU coach John Brady said his team is preparing for Lofton to play.
"I'm sure they'll parachute him out of the roof for our game Tuesday night," he said.
I know Pearl isn't best friends with most of his SEC brethren, but there is no need for that kind of comment from a coach. If it were a player, I would understand. After his "off the record" comment about Pearl and the boys after last years game, I guess I would have thought he would show some class.

John Brady knows no class. Don't be surprised if they are overly physical with Lofton either, ala Karate Kid, they need this game just as much as we do.

Just before reading your post, I was envisioning Garrett Temple coming down on Lofton's ankle...hope not

You've got to think that it will be in Lofton's head. I mean it has only been two weeks. I hope he has his game face on and doesn't let LSU's agressiveness take him out.

Parachute. Now that's just stupid. Repel down like the Special Forces, now that would be cool and more practical.

Brady = Moron

I dont mind if the other coaches take shots at Pearl but Brady should leave Lofton out of it. Im sure Brady would love to have Lofton on his team. No class whatsoever. Jealousy

For what it's worth, 17 out of 18 LSU fans at Tigerdroppings think UT will win (with or without C-LO). I will be cheering for them. We need this win to get us in gear for Candy and UK.

GO VOLS

that is suprising... LSU has a good bit of talent and athleticism.

And the Vols DO need this win badly

I agree, we need the win badly. I watched the tail end of the MSU-LSU game this weekend, and from what I saw, LSU has very little if any outside game. I think Pearl is going to set up double-teams and triple-teams against LSU's big men, much in the way he did against Florida, with the key difference being that LSU won't have a Humphrey, Green, or Brewer to jack the three.

Of course, now that I said that, they're probably going to shoot 60% from outside the arc. But I'd rather make them beat us that way as opposed to letting them own us down low.

I also saw a lot of their guys huffing and puffing towards the end of the game. I think Lofton's presence will make our game more up tempo, to the point where we should be able to bury them in the final 7 to 8 minutes.

We said that about UK and look what happened. Saying that, LSU doesn't really have a competant PG and their floor direction and leadership is lacking. Being away from home, that is just amplified.

Oh, and regarding Brady, that guy strikes me as having some serious insecurities. From his nasty little comments to his trophy wife, he's trying to compensate for something :)

I guess it's too late to make it parachute night at TBA huh?

It's not that surprising. Friend of mine is a LSU fan, and he's knew that they wern't very good from the beginning of the season. Losing Thomas and not improving their dreadful outside shooting are the reasons. They all knew if a couple of shooters didn't emerge this year that they were going to get exposed without a legitimate 2nd big man (Thomas).

Yeah, I don't think you can compare LSU's guards to KY's guards. KY's guards are several notches above, and have played in quite a few more SEC and tourney games. LSU is young like us.

Imagine if the students could get creative and go buy a bunch of old Army parachute guys and toss them in the air when Lofton is announced. Now that would maybe start setting the students up as getting noticed on TV as some of CBB's best groups (ala Cameron Crazies). Plus it would be funny as hell.

Brady is mad at the world. Even after going to the final four last year he is viewed as a terrible coach.

I don't mind his pie hole creating bulletin board material.

Time to start building a tradition for the men's BB program..... It starts with fans and eventually produces championship caliber players and teams.

Awesome idea. I use to do make my own parachutes for my GI Joe's back in the day with tape, string, and circles cut out of trash bags. :) Shame I won't be in Knoxville for the game...

Good idea but im assuming you haven't been in TBA during intros, the lights are off and the attention is focused on the floor, not the fans.

Yes - action figures and pyrotechnics, always a winning combo.

My favorite (in my very early teens) was taking my old Masters of the Universe (e.g. He-Man) action figures, pulling the heads off, filling their hollow torsos with smokeless gunpowder, attaching a makeshift fuse, and then reattaching the head.

One time we sent poor Man-at-Arms' head at least 30 feet in the air doing that, with the body becoming smoldering molten plastic...

Next to bottle-rocket wars, that was high entertainment :)
