That's a manifestly stupid response. The KKK has a right to their opinion... but would KNS tolerate a member on their staff? No. Not even if they weren't a writer.

Just more hypocrites like the vast majority of supposed "mainstream" news outlets.

The KNS is a Guild shop. He probably one of the most senior writers on staff. He's been there a LONG time.

He is a columnist. He is supposed to be controversial. Obviously, his column is fairly popular. The union might protect his job, but it's pretty unlikely it can protect his column. He writes it because people read it.

Volnation, I could go on and on about John's articles, what some would call brutal and honest reporting, I would call a man who plagiarizes stats, and rewords other articles. He is not original, he is no more critical than other sports "commentators" on TV when any team is hitting hard times. He has lost his "man card" to exclusive inside information and he is taking it out on UT, sure, he throws a bone once in awhile to set everything up and then he comes in with his nonsensical dribble. Butch actually tried to mend fences with John, and it didn't work...........Knoxville News hasn't broken a news story in how long? When was the last time you saw anything in this paper before ESPN or Rivals? Hey! prove me wrong John has been blacked balled from anyone with ties to UT..........and if it is for his brutal honestly, then that is the risk HE took and it backfired. He burnt his bridges and knows it.....now the Protectors of Media Integrity and Honest Reporting can dive right in, but to be honest.........I really don't care how you feel about John.........it only matters what I feel............did you hear the mic drop?..........BOOM!

I wished I have kept some of his emails he replied back to me on, it demonstrates his lack of respect for his readers and UT. He doesn't write to enlighten, teach and inform in an unbiased position.........John is full of himself.....that is for sure.

To be honest, if he was a great writer, he wouldn't have so many people who dislike him so much..................just saying. There are two kinds of people, either your in the eye of the storm or causing the storm. John has never really appealed to the masses and I think that was a purposeful decision on his part.......it is what it is. Remember what your mom said...........you made your bed now lie in it.................John.

I mean, why not extend it back to 1998, we were great then. I suppose Minnesota has had a nice program if you extend your timeline back to when FDR was president. BTW, since 2000, we're still below .500 in SEC play. 72-80. Is that worth writing home about?

The fact remains we've been one of the worst, almost the worst, teams in the SEC for more than a decade running. That is a significant period of time. If Tennessee was having a great run as a program and he just wanted to throw rocks at it, that'd be one thing. Or if the program starts to meaningfully rebound and repeatedly pooh-poohs it, I'll be right there with the criticism. But there isn't really anything else you can say other than what he's said about a team that's won just under half its conference games going on 20 years now.

It's very sad, but we have an entire generation of fans now that has not personally witnessed Tennessee be a great program. A kid born in 2000 has seen Tennessee lose more conference games than it has won across their entire lifetime, and time they will be able to personally remember is when the suck really accelerated beginning in 2008.

I don't mind objectivity. But he really seemed to enjoy taking the piss out of our failures, gets old after 15 years of struggle

What does this diatribe have to do with John Adams. It has never been about what he has said but how he has said it. Now to be fair he was among the leaders of the pack sharing that CPF had to go and surely there was no way our football fortunes could go any way but up with a new coach in town..... How did that work out for you..... I did not save his work, kind of wish I had, but I know it was his wording that led me to cancel my out of town delivery of the KNS at that time swearing that I would not pay a dime for one till he has gone and I have been a man of my word..... I even quit clicking on KNS online stuff just in case it would benefit the word weasel... I have shared on other sites in the past another truth.... I once walked out of a restaurant because he was the first face I spied upon entry.... felt bad because the restaurant belongs to a loyal Vol supporter who has put his money where his mouth is and adorns the walls with all manor of Orange stuff.. I have made it up to Mr. Wright with lots of visits since then....

OH. yes look at us now 4 and 8 and 5 and 7 i forgot Phil was just a 10 win coach and sometimes a 11 win coach and won the only NC in 70 years and HALL OF FAME COACH boy we really got it right, but he is back now we all know who really is calling the shots now JP has just got the title but we all know who is the top MAN is.

Let's see ten years of bad football...... and CPF has been back on the job how long? Adams is for sure the Mike Hamilton of Knoxville journalism... if you allow the stretch to cover his work as that..... I had no problem accepting that CPF's job could be on the line back in the day, just like I think Holly's is now, and surely there can be the right time and a good solution to the problem at hand. But I hope we learned from that experience that you better have a good plan in place before you buy into the crap Adams was selling back then.... Someone shared with me that JA took a shot at CPF again over the NCAA violation... wish somebody that read it would relate in detail what was said and how it was said ... I won't break my pledge... but I have my guesses.

They have just fired cartoonist Charlie Daniels after he refused a recent buyout offer. He has been there 60 years.The
