John Adams

What has he done that is so egregious though? He isn't writing for the #1 program in the country, not even top 10. Not everything is going to be peaches. Better to be even and fair, not some silly homer telling gullible SPers we will be a 10 win team every year. Bet his realistic predictions have beaten most predictions the past 10 years.

I love TN. They are my team for every sport. But I appreciate that he isn't a Homer and sunshine pumper. I'd rather someone be honest give a new perspective as opposed to saying "we are champions for life", and give us garbage coach speak. We are all entitled to our own opinions, but I don't mind John Adams and I love TN.

Well his schtick has simply gotten old. Every article is sarcastic and just another dig at the Vols. I used to enjoy the brutal honesty; however he has pushed way past his approach of the early 1990s.

Thank you for being an independent thinker sir. Takes a strong mind to both love something and openly accept critiques and hard realities. They can coexist and we need much more of it, especially in politics (not to make this political, but partisanship and demonization of opposing opinions is a real threat to a working republic).

John, is that you? Sorry but, John is obviously not coming from a neutral position in his articles, he writes for shock and basically an uninformed position. One only has to read his junk and see his attempt to push the fan's buttons. I wouldn't say he is a sports writer, his columns are more suited for those National Enquirer or Globe......jmo.

The realist angle is always such crap. He rarely has an original take and simply piles on with the negative. He gets more clicks that way and it keeps him employed. Stop clicking stuff from bad writers and they will eventually move on (or get hired by VolsWire)

Yeah, interesting takes. At the end of the day, though, Adams is no better than your average sports blogger or even some commenters here. (Same with most/all of the remaining KNS opinion column writers.)

Yeah the guy speaks the truth. He's literally doing his job.

He's still employed because people read his columns. Want him fired? Don't read his columns and let KNS know that you won't read them.

I will bet you are in the minority of VOL fans in viewing his base positions even being close to fair and balanced.. I am among the many that posted all over the boards they cancelled the paper when it was still relevant because he was employed there.... At least he is not on the radio as much as he used to be or my luck has improved....

Also people didn’t like his scathing take down of Fulmer prior to his firing
Was it really him or was it Hamilton giving him information to push the fan base against Fulmer?
Remember that the support for academics was taken away from the sports programs
That the prop 48s weren’t able to get in
That money for salaries were very limited
Last but not least Hamilton took the surplus from the sports programmed and gave it to the academic side

Lack of respect for what the team is trying to accomplish.

Lack of respect for the players.

Lack of respect.

One can be insightfully critical without using disrespect.

For example, Tee had the longest streak of complete passes. Will that make him more comfortable with an offense where receivers are, mostly, to high point the ball, and worry less about yac?
