Does anyone else have a hatred towards John Adams and the columns he writes? So negative go write for someone else.

Also taking a quick poll who is your least favorite Vols writer or reporter?

Mine goes to Wes Rucker

I might read what JA does, but it is pretty much the truth. He looks for the negative, his writting is very anti-UT. Whether he is right (very few times) or wrong (most of the time), he is still a old, mean spirited person. As a local paper, I believe there should be a level of professional behavior from the media. I don't blame CDD from not doing one-on-ones with any of the KNS reporters. Heck the guys from Volquest don't see to have that issue, and they are not always "picking" the vols to win, but they do it with respect and facts. JA and the whole KNS staff should left outside the fence as far as I am concerned, nothing really good comes of their being there any way.

Adams is not anti-UT, but he's not going to blow pink bubbles at the program when it's bad--and it's been fairly bad for about 10 years. He's objective. If the team were playing well and winning, his columns would be lots more positive. Our defense has given up a ton of yardage and ton of points to everyone, so why shouldn't he suggest that the same thing is going to happen at south carolina. Hope he's wrong--but we'll probably be behind by 14-0 ten minutes into the game. We gotta get some players on defense.

Today's writers write to sell and only to sell. The real writers told a story and made it worth reading. That talent is long gone (ie, Tom Siler).

Yes and No...I mean i support what he believes in because i know he has the best intentions but its hard for me to defend him when he has yet to beat a ranked team. Support him because i know it's not all his fault but he is the head coach and it will all come back to him. But overall to answer your question no I support the University and wouldn't be upset one bit with the firing of Dooley as long as his replacement is a top tier coach such as Gruden. I don't wanna fire him if we're just gonna hire a mediocre coach and take another step back as a program. If we have the money and the intrest from a proven coach then im all for canning him! I want what is best for this football team

If UT went 14-0 without allowing a first down, positive yardage & shut everyone out, Adams would find fault & be negative. I used to read him but no more. He needs to go back to the buyou where he crawled out from.

So glad you started this thread. I was on their site a minute ago, and saw his new article about how we are going to help Shaw get out of his slump. This after he says S.C. is a better job. This is unprofessional imo to just trash on team you cover or any team for that matter. Of all the peolple that have left that show, somehow he has not been one of them.:ermm::banghead2: And they still have not updated his picture from when he first got hired.:)

Adams has been anti UT from the day he arrived in Knoxville. He hates UT because he is a LSU fan and we beat their butts all the time when he came to Knoxville.

I thumbs upped for sure on this. Post of the century possibly. Both coordinators could be like last nail in Head Coaches fate.

Instant stalemate....the ball would never advance past the line of scrimage and the defense would never have any tackles for loss

Adams is an old school journalist, who's neither the weak willed sunshine pumper like a Gribble who says nice things to maintain his access to the coaches, nor the anonymous blogger who says incendiary things from the comfort of his keyboard.

Adams gives you his take, and it's always informed. It may not always be positive, but that's honest writing. I'd rather read Adams on his worst day than any of the other KNS staff on their best.

I know a lot of you guys don't like JA. People think because he is from somewhere else, he has some sinister motive to bring down the reputation of the program. My take: I wish he had more positive things to write about. I like Dooley. I was excited when he was hired. The coaching changes this years both excited and worried me. That much change is never a good sign. CDD's record is really bad. I know the program was so down when he cam e in. But...I think JA is reporting accurately. He may not chose to print articles with a silver lining every week, but what he does write is true. From outside K-town, he is the most respected sports journalist covering UT. Is that good or bad? Probably a bad sign, since that means very few journalists care about UT anymore. I have hope for the future, but the present is rough. JA is telling the truth. That's my opinion.

I like John Adam's work, on the radio and his writing. He really does know his stuff and he offers different views.
